Growing up and following the Red Sox in the fifties and early sixties, I had to deal with the same situation vis-à-vis the Yankees. Fans of the Lakers, Knicks, Hawks, and Warriors suffered under the brutal reign of Russ and Red. It's part of being a sports fan.

Any fan with Norm Zauchin as their avatar has to be an oldie but goodie.. Most psters here have no idea who he was....or any of the Sox in the early-mid 50's....

Looks like we have visitors...

see halfway down the thread

New England has ruined the NFL single-handedly

Figured it was best to let them know you were watching.

I've always thought @Ian and Max over there should create some sort of crossover threads/chat on Jets/Pats weeks.

Software/web developer at your service if you ever decide to.

Would likely be a serious headache to moderate though.

I liked this best:

I question whether you were a real Jets fan in the first place. Most Jets fans consist of either: (a) those, like me, who can't help themselves and who have continued to root for and be disappointed by them routinely; or (b) those who've simply had enough of the traditional sh*t show and just walk away from football altogether. It is a rare bird that switches teams, particularly within a division. So, unless you are that rarity of rarities, it's obvious that you never had the perennial, masochistic streak that is the hallmark of a true Jets fan.

LMAO LMAO okay I found the perfect JETE comment...

"and the whole scheduling thing seems to give them an advantage just about every year."

Dude. Other than you playing the LAST place team in the rival divisions, we have the SAME schedule every year.

That's really an excellent point. If the schedule is fixed to help the Patriots, why aren't the Jets, Dolphins and Bills racking up wins? They have the disadvantage of playing the Patriots twice, but they also have the advantage of never playing the first place team in another division. They're going to feel awful when they realize their team has been playing an easy, rigged schedule and they're still terrible.
