I trust in BB... however...

Last years free agent aquisitions were a total disaster. Fans have the right to be a little concerned as we watch cornerstone players leave the organization with out a hint of activity ,unless you count signing an unproductive cast off wide receiver. With that being said management deserves a pass for last year based on their success. Football must be played and managed for the now. With cap issues and injuries you cant count on sh** , even 2 or 3 years from now. We have a nucleus to win now if we add the right free agents and draft picks. I am tired of the blind following that managemnt gets. I appreciate their past success as much as anyone, but would like to know they are still awake at the wheel!!! Lets be bold and win now.

OK, you can be a little concerned.

Permission granted.

Given the cap space available I would have made Willie an offer damn close to what he got in Cleveland!

This was not a good week for the Pats front office.

A new contract with Branch AND Seymore would go a long ways in cheering me up. But I don't think anyone will blame me if I have my doubts on that ever happening.

This attached picture is something we should have never had to see!

I wouldn't. They paid about double what he was worth.

EDIT: However, they definitely miscalculated with the LBs (Chad and Monty)
How soon we forget that Ted Johnson retired on the eve of training camp. Whatever 'calculations' they had about the ILB position was undoubtedly affected by that completely expected development....IN AUGUST. Yet we never hear that. We just hear what horrible signings they were.

We also never hear the question of how realistic it is to expect the Patriots to replace two players like Bruschi and Johnson with no adverse affect to the team.

There's nobody I'd rather have as GM/HC than BB, either.

That doesn't mean he's perfect.
And nobody is saying he's perfect. Only a child would think another human being is perfect.

In fact, it almost feels like YOU'RE the one who's saying it. The shock and dismay that he actually got a free agent choice 'wrong' has obviously wounded you and others like you. You keep talking about the 'misses' over and over, as if you're having a hard time believing he got even one 'wrong'.

The way I figure it, everybody's going to get some wrong when it comes to FA's, the draft, and so on. The challenge is to get FEWER wrong than the other guys do. Its that simple.

Any question our guys get fewer wrong than most?

And more than that...considering the timing and how Cleveland lost Edwards to a resigning with Det..McGinest was not leaving Cleveland withoout his signing there.

Seriously, you see these free agent losses as huge issues because you follow the team closely.

Show me where I said these were huge losses. I don't see them that way... they're LOSSES... but they're not insurmountable by any means.

LOL... I'm compared to a child for suggesting that BB might improve his PR? You Kool-Aid types are funny. I got no shock and dismay over losing any of these guys. None of them are as big a loss as, say, Ty Law, and the Pats managed without him quite well in the second half of 2004. I'm just saying this is an area in which BB might improve. You obviously think BB is already perfect... you child. LMAO!!!

:rocker:

I'm gonna be the first to bump this and all of the other 'doubter' threads back up next February when the team gets back on top. If you can't trust the Pats after all they've accomplished of late, you can't trust anyone.

please disregard this post if AV ends up in green next season

For the record, I've not said word one on this thread about distrusting the Pats.
