Agreed but this is a tricky one. At the end of the day you want your play-makers (Gronk, Lewis, JE) to get more touches than the role players.

In theory, you always throw to the open guy but in actuality plays are designed to to get certain players the ball. These designs are based on down/distance, matchup, and playmaking ability. Then you have the defensive "look" which can alter the priority that determines which player gets the ball.

I know you know this but it's worth pointing out nonetheless.

I think you're making my point. I want Gronk and Edelman getting the touches. That's why it's great to have a role player good enough to get important 3rd downs in limited opportunities.

I might be making your point. I've lost track.

Defenses are going to do their best to take away your playmakers ability to make plays.

Having a solid guy like DA who has starter-level talent be a secondary option is deadly.

Throw in Lewis, LaFell, LB and Chandler into that mix of solid role players capable of bigger roles and it's unstoppable.

Brady is the key but having that level of talent around him makes his job MUCH easier.

This is why this team is deeper than 07. The 3-5 receiver spots are improved. Much more versatility at TE. And 2 extra spare parts Dobson and Martin on top of it.
