Here's the good news, if anyone is buying my perception of things:

Our 3 largest weaknesses ~ our ONLY weaknesses ~ the D Line Edge, the Flankers, and our Secondary ~ all have tremendous upside within the context of this very Campaign.

* End Brandon Deaderick could have an immense impact on our Run Defense, and that, right soon.

* End Ron Brace continues to improve.

* Flanker Jermaine Cunningham continues to improve.

* Flanker Rob Ninkovich continues to improve.

* The Secondary continues to improve.

Good Health Granted, those are the only 5 Trouble Spots standing in our way of being ELITE Super Bowl Contenders, in the year 2010.

And execution at ALL FIVE is improving by Leaps and Bounds, in all cases by young men of Skill, Youth, and Passion, and under the extraordinary guidance of The Greatest Coach In The Game.

While some fans see the weakness of our team to be greater than the strengths, but I think we still have a very good team!

And we could beat any team we face! I think the turnovers that the D are creating is certainly helping us!

Deaderick is a pleasant surprise, but dictionary.com has a definition for immense and he has a ways to go.

I'm concerned about the disappearance of Brace, that's immense. Remember, we're basically minus two all pro caliber DEs and sticking our NT on one end is a stop gap gimmick. Great if it works, though.

That about sums it up... assuming one's team is in good health, a 9-7 team entering the playoffs healthy, peaking at the right time can take the Lombardi.

Unfortuantely until they address their awful 3rd down defense, while I'm happy to be where we are, we're not going deep into the playoffs until that stat improves.
