Part of mental health and good therapy is to not compare oneself to others.
I used to work in a company that was very high pressure on performance. They had a philosophy that if you didn’t fire the worst employee the second worst one would think he was doing a good job.
I’m hoping that no messages on here in 2018 means that some of the at-risk posters have been feeling better.
Depression is a disease. But with the proper medication and in the seeking a psychologist and with the love and support of true family and friends. You can overcome this. May not happen overnight. But it will happen if you give it a chance and keep at it.
I've been in treatment for a bit over four years...I am starting to feel much, much better. It takes time and effort and perseverance.
Great to hear, good luck and congrats on the effort and progress.
Glad you are feeling a lot better. As it takes time. But remember time does count if you want to get well.
As the sun goes down earlier and the weather becomes cooler, I hope that one and all will avoid the downs that sometimes accompany late Fall/Winter. It can be difficult for many when sundown is around 5pm.
Man life does suck often godamn
And it also rocks...!
Still better than the alternative, so I am told.
"Every day is not a good day but there is good in every day"
Stay strong, continue talking.
We (family) are headed to Copenhagen for the holidays. I mentioned that we'd have about 5 hours of daylight per day, and everyone looked at me with an "Oh, sh*t" expression. Yes, it is a challenge for anyone.
Hope that you have a blast in Denmark. Heard nothing but very nice stories there. Would love to go there one day myself.
Thanks. It should be a great time. The wife and I are now working on the travel. Flights are pricey, so we turned our attention to flying to London or Paris and doing the Eurotrain thing from there. We'll see.
I'll send postcards.
Enjoy, sounds like an outstanding holiday.
Did you find a new job?
How are you doing? Hope things are better for you.
Those having difficulties please continue to communicate with someone about your issues and concerns. Don't try to figure it out alone. This forum has people that care about you. There are many other places where you can communicate directly to someone that cares as well.
Don't stop talking.
Patsboy doesn't post very often anymore, but I talk to him all the time. He's getting by one day a time.
Please tell him that I said hello even though we have never met.
