Now that JB is out of the way and Drake is the man, it seems that might open things up for Milton to get some playing time. While JB was the starter, it's tough to put Milton in the game for a play here or there while Drake sits. Hopefully Jabba Van Pelt thinks along those lines and draws up some good plays for Milton. We've got to knock defenses off balance, and sending Milton out there for 4-5 plays as a disruptive wild card would be brilliant.

They can only do that if he's active on gameday. To this point, he's been the emergency 3rd QB, so he can only play if both Brissett and Maye had to leave the game. So they can either bring all three guys on to the gameday roster, or you'd have to have Milton as the backup and Brissett as the emergency guy. Not saying they won't (or shouldn't do it), but that's the scenario.

IMO, this first week, they should be focusing 100% on getting Maye ready. The gimmicks can be added down the road.

I love it! Jabba Van Pelt!! Perfect! Close to beating poopoo **** poopster! (Juju). Have they said JB is backup? As for getting Milton time, yea some designed plays would be great. Not bs high school wildcat **** but some deep shots. Wouldn’t do anything dink and dunk due to him lacking velocity control/touch. **** how about making him a TE? Milton goes in motion, balls tossed behind to him and he rockets it to Bourne on the opposite sideline. There, I’m an OC now. Hire me!

Good question. He didn't show much during pre season.

I’m not obsessed. I wanted them to keep Zappe over Milton. I also predicted (and still do) that he will be out of the league within a few years.

However, he is on the team. And there are things he can do, like throw the ball a long way, and run. He’s also a tank. He could at least give Houston something to deal with that they haven’t prepared for, setting them back on their heels a bit and taking pressure off Drake.

What’s the downside? I’m sure an NFL staff can prepare Drake and a few plays for Milton.
