and I would think this year we see that very well play out, and that's Maye's next step up in his progression to playing even better than he did in 2025

You think that his next “progression” is to stop making big plays and check down a lot? I think you either didn’t watch the games or don’t understand what you saw

No I addressed the point. You cannot program him to check down quickly without deprogramming his play making, extending plays and making big plays.

Nobody is asking him to check down on plays that were well blocked. We’re asking he become more proficient at recognizing pressure pre-snap and checking down on plays where he was sacked and/or had a negative play.

This was less noticeable in the regular season against lesser defenses, but it was a glaring problem in the playoffs against the best defenses.

You have to beat the best defenses to win a rings.

firstly, I never said that
what I did say, was cut down on HIS sack total, which would mean QB sacks vs OL sacks
Maye often holds the ball too long and/or tries to make a hero play with his legs, resulting in a loss of yards, or him fumbling.
We have seen numerous QB's like that early in their career, mitigate those 2 issues, with out losing their ability to make big plays with their feet, or with their down field throws.
Josh Allen of course jumps out immediately
