You will never convince me that the NFL didn't weight the odds in the AFCCG to help Denver get to the SB. Whether through NOT testing certain players, refraining from post-game testing, leaning on the refs to NOT make holding calls against Denver, making phantom calls against the Patriots and then Carolina, etc, there has been a concerted effort to deflect attention from NE and crown Manning as the GOAT.
Go ahead, call me a nutter, a conspiracy nut, whatever. I don't care anymore because it's been so obvious for anyone who wants to see. Even last night, replay showed a False Start penalty against the Panthers, yet no one could be seen moving. There were obvious holding calls against Carolina, and against NE in the AFCCG that weren't called. Blatant grabbing of arms and jerseys, etc. Then add in the Nance/Simms ball washing of Manning before and all through the game. Both the AFCCG and the SB. It was obvious that the fix was in.
Don't get me wrong, I can accept losing when the game is played fair & square, when everything is on the level. But this wasn't the case. There's any number of side stories and reasons for this, but the main one is that Goodell and his thug monkey crew in the NFL had an agenda: Manning good, Brady bad. Make certain that Manning and his crew win SB 50, no matter the cost to the "integrity" of the game, because in Goodell's mind, the Rubes will believe anything they are told, and with enough glitz, glamour and shiney things, and with enough money thrown at it, any problem can be made to go away.
I've seen that in action first hand. I worked for more than 20 years in film and television and in theater. It's how the entertainment industry works, and since Goodell took over, he's made the NFL's priority direction becoming a leading player in the entertainment industry. It's all, as they say, "about the Benjamins".
So anyway, I wanted to say this, and that's my rant about it all, and now I'm done with it.
I'm now on to the draft, and then TC and the 2016 season. GO PATS!
