So he paused, and Goodell put a hand to his ear. And he did hear a sound rising over the field.

It started in low. Then it started to grow...

But this-- the sound wasn't sad. Why, this sound sounded glad!

Every Pats fan in Boston, the tall and the small, was cheering! Without any Gronk at all!

He HADN'T stopped victory from coming! IT CAME! Somehow or other, they won just the same!

And Goodell, looking up from his hookers and blow, stood puzzling and puzzling...

...How could it be so?

It came without Gronk! Without special teams! It came without draft picks, crushing AFC dreams!
