The basic issue is that the Patriots have four picks in the first four rounds (where essentially every player gets at least a second year), and then seven in the last two rounds.

The problem is that the Patriots don't really have eleven holes to fill, and I'm not sure that outside a couple of specific roles (e.g., QB3) that they can find roster spots for them.

To use game show parlance, the Pats have four spins they have to take (one in the third, and three in the sixth), but they can trade up, around, or even out with the remaining seven.

So: how many picks do you want the Pats to make this year?

I'd say pretty much all of them. You can never have too much competition in training camp.

I voted 11 cuz yeah 5 of them are 6th rounders but all it takes is one of those to be a Malcolm butler or an Edelman to be worth cutting the other 4. Take every bite at the apple and hope it pays off. Go big take risks and with 5 shots at it at least one should be starting caliber eventually. **** with Bill's skill at finding hidden gems maybe even two.

None, **** the system

I think Bill is either going to trade up a few times for quality or select 5 players and trade into next year.

Just a hunch but I believe he is very interested in the undrafted this year.

To be honest, I'd like to see Belichick rock up with a bazooka, aim it directly at Goodell before the first pick is announced then fire the killshot. Belichick is met with raucous applause, walks up to the destroyed podium, stands over the corpse of Goodell and proclaims victory... before absolving Brady and returning the Patriots stolen picks.

I'd like to see them push as many as they can in to next year. Atlanta has only 5 this draft. Dmitroff may be willing to work with BB and gain some more this year.

I have no idea but with so many Free Agents at the end of this year, I wouldn't be surprised if we use more than many expect. Get as much talent as possible in and see what we've got.

I'd "like" them to select about 7 and trade the rest into next year/future. I don't believe that there are that many spots available to be completely honest, but youth needs to be added to spots such as OT, RB, WR, DT, LB, and CB.

I'd focus on those 6 positions, with the understanding that I may take a shot at QB. Where that shot will happen is anyone's guess.

You're like a prophet.......or something.

"I am not a destroyer of teams. I am a liberator of them! The point is, ladies and gentleman, that Draft Picks, for lack of a better word, are good. Draft Picks are right. Draft Picks work. Draft Picks clarify, cut through, and capture the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Draft Picks, in all of their forms; Draft Picks for life, for money, for love, knowledge have marked the upward surge of mankind. And Draft Picks, you mark my words, will not only save The New England Patriots, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the NFL. Thank you very much."

Patriot picks: 22 at least.

Butler: 8, including a big one in the superbowl
Ryan: 4
Dmac: 5
Rookie CB: 1
Jamie Collins: 2, 1 returned for a TD
Nink: 2

All of them...They don't carry over into next year.

EARLY
We have 4 picks in the 1st through 5th rounds. I would like us to pick 4 to 6 players. I expect a trade down from the 2nd for a 3rd, 4th and 5th.

LATER
After that, we are talking long-shots. With regard to long shots, we should use all the picks. After all, long shots occasionally play off.

Round 2 Pick 29 - Bullard / Hassan Ridgeway/ Jones
Round 2 Pick 30 - Sean Davis
Round 3 Pick 28 - value 136
Round 3 Pick 33 (COMP) - Joe Haeg/Kyle Murphy
Round 6 Pick 21 - value 19
Round 6 Pick 29 - value 16
Round 6 Pick 33 (COMP) - Jeff Driskel / Nate Sudfeld
Round 6 Pick 39 (COMP) - Glenn Gronkowski / Dan Vitale
Round 6 Pick 46 (COMP) - Keenan Reynolds
Round 7 Pick 22 - value 6
Round 7 Pick 29 - value 3

I gues they trade ROUND#3 PICK 91 + ROUND #6 picks 21 AND 29 + ROUND #7 picks 22 AND 29 FOR:

Round 4 Pick 104 - Cyrus Jones/Justin Simmons/Devontae Booker
Round 4 Pick 119 - Cyrus Jones/Justin Simmons/Devontae Booker
Round 5 Pick 132 - Best LB

Hope if they make a pick with 60 and 61 Belichick big times it and doesn't make both selections until 3 seconds left on the clock at 61

I say zero. They should trade away all the picks this year for a round higher next year (ex: this years 2nd rd and 3rd rd for next years 1st rd...flip there 4th rd pick for a 3rd rd next year)...the NFL wins the battle this year, but we win the war next year and settle all family business in 2017

7-8 picks should do it.. meaning they use the others to trade into spots to grab the guys they covet.. or trade back and get more/higher picks in next years draft

They have 4 picks in the top 100 or so, that allows them to move around and get 4-5 guys they love
