How I've been greeting Packer fans this morning

Heh. I remember how we used to give Colts fans sh!t about celebrating these individual accolades. My, how the tables have turned...

Yah, this woosification of the fan base pisses me off. Guess it's just human nature in action. What happened to the blue collar, lunchpail Patriot teams that actually showed up best when it really counted in big games and when the game was close, on the line in the 4th QTR?

Kraft raising a 16-0 flag at Gillette didn't help discourage this mentality. Not after 3 SB flags posted just a couple seasons prior.

The woosification of the fan base started when the Pats started winning. What added to it was when the Pats started playing the game like it was a video game (all pass, no run, no D). The casual football fan likes to see that. The people that followed the Pats before they started winning like the hard nose hitting, pound it on the ground if need be to win mentality.

As far as the Pats changing, BB changed his philosophy to try to keep up with the Colts because he saw Polian changing the rules. But I think he sees now that hard hitting D and balanced offense as the way to go as evidenced by the two Super Bowl participants.

The Patriots lost when it mattered. The Packers won when it mattered. End of story.
