BB says he "recommended" Chip and we all understand his recommendation for Schiano... not to mention all of his assistants leaving and (sometimes) coming back. How powerful do you think BB is in the constant coach flow that exists in not only the NFL but the college ranks.

We know the NFL is a coaching fraternity, but it oscillates between the coaches and the Pros. We have seen what Saban thinks of BB and even Urban. Maybe there are other coaches?

In other words, do you think BB is a big power broker in some of the transactions of players and coaches that he often comes out as having big connections to?

It's no different than a company looking for a CEO reaching out to corporate bigwigs to vet a candidate.

Belichick is a sure-thing hall of famer, has won a bucket load of games and has played in more Super Bowls (and won more) than any other active coach.

By all accounts Belichick doesn't give a **** about what other teams do but he seems to have his own coaching ties and is happy to recommend people. I have no doubt that he had glowing reports to give about Josh McD before he went Denver way.

So this isn't Belichick pulling the puppet strings this is Belichick doing a solid for a coach that he likely respects.

He beats most teams fairly regularly. I'd say that's quite influential.

If and when you watch the NFL Network, "A Football Life" On BB, you realize how extensive his "coaching tree" is..

Oft imitated, never duplicated....

Let's see.
Five rings, three as HC.
Five Conference Championships as HC.
Too many Division Championships to count up easily.
The greatest innovator as a Coach since Bill Walsh and probably since Paul Brown before him, with Game Plans already in Canton.
Career W/L Record, including Playoffs, of nearly 2/1 W to L.
Multiple times Coach of the Year.
If people don't think he is influential, that's their problem, not his.
