The Falcons get the ball first. This is something I think both teams want. The Falcons have 8 straight opening possession TDs. This stops vs the Pats (can't keep up forever and the Pats have a good D). Atlanta punts.

The Pats get the ball and start out running to see if it works. It doesn't work well early but the Pats decide they should go hurry up after converting and do it to slow down the pass rush. The OL holds well and a lot of White/Lewis/Edelman is used. Nothing deep just dink and dunk. They drive down the field and the Pats have never scored a TD in the first quarter in the super bowl. That ends now. 7-0 Pats.

Atlanta gets the ball now and knows this is an important drive. They drive slowly down the field effectively but Ryan who has held on to the ball too long sometimes pays here. Flowers with a strip sack. Pats recover at mid field. The Pats try for the big play but fail and drive slowly but the drive stalls just outside of the red zone. Atlanta's D isn't horrible as some think and gets a stop 10-0 Patriots.

Atlanta on it's 3rd possession won't be denied. They are too good. Pats 10-7.

Pats get the ball back and go to the run game it is working well and they are driving but the drive stalls with either a penalty or pressure up the middle.

Atlanta gets the ball back and gets a big play against Rowe most likely and then drive the final few first downs to go up 10-14. Here we hear about the unstoppable Atlanta offense a lot.

The Pats are down and the momentum has swung. However now it swings back. The Pats drive the length of the field to get 7 to go up 17-14.

Now a key STs play. Atlanta has had a few special teams hiccups and they try to do too much. A combo of Jonathan Jones/Slater and maybe a penalty pin them inside the 10. The offense that just went back to back on TDs gets it first 3 and out forced by our D.

Pats get the ball and go up 24-14 with very little time left.

Atlanta drives hard but the Pats D holds on to hold them to a FG. 24-17 Pats. This was a fast paced high scoring half but things start to slow down in the 2nd half. The Pats D adjust and after allowing a rough first half of play they will adjust.

The Pats O comes back on the field and drives but it stalls in the red zone (a lot of stalling against a bad red zone D I know but the Pats just have holding called too much or stuffed runs happen). Pats 27-17.

Atlanta drives well but it held to a FG. 27-20.

The Pats drive and now will not be stopped and score a TD 34-20.

Atlanta still has confidence in their offense but the adjustments Pats D has now shut down the run completely and taken away the deep ball. Drives start to stall. punt.

Pats get the ball back and change field position but screw up and get stopped.

Atlanta pinned at the 10. The field position is flipped again but Atlanta needs to punt.

The Pats get the ball back but now into the 4th are being slow deliberate and running the ball. They have a successfully 3 point drive which takes time off the clock. Pats 37-20.

Desperate Atlanta near 4 down territory finally breaks through to make it 37-27. They are running out of time but still can punt and rely on the D. The Pats drive again but fail to put the dagger in. However they put Atlanta in a tough spot with 2-3 minutes and needing 2 scores.

Atlanta in a hurry drives and moves the ball okay but Ryan gets a bit too anxious and throws a deep pick. The Pats end the game on offense and win 37-27.

Keys - Pats play a clean game and Atlanta has 1 big turnover early and 1 to seal it late. The Pats win STs and that helps tip things. The Pats run game starts off slow but heats up later. Atlanta's run game starts off okay but then the Pats shut it down. Pats again are victims of their own penalties stalling drives and pressure. The continually fail to put the Falcons away late but that is part the Falcons D and part trying to run to end the game which you can do on this team. Also the Pats D starts off a bit rough but as they have done all year settle in in the 2nd half and the Offense though hot early is still good later but focuses on a more controlled game than passing a ton in the 2nd half.

Your lips to God's ears!

However, I think it's going to be much more frought affair.

It will be harder when you watch it. Not only will Atlanta hold the lead at some point for much of the game they will be in one score and even when the Pats are up 3 scores they will frustrate you by not putting it away and playing keep away too much (the smart thing probably) and when you see Atlanta start to claw back in late with 6 minutes left and make it a 10 point game watch your nerves spike. Even more when they have 3 minutes left down only 10 with Julio Jones who can win big jump balls.

Why do i think it will be a "comfortable win?" Cause so many super bowls have been close last minute affairs particularly with the Pats. We come to expect it. However the law of averages says we can't have 7 super bowls in a row that are 1 score wins or loses within the last 2 minutes. Either the Pats need to win one of these by 2 scores or lose 1 by 2 scores. I pick the Pats winning as that is the most likely scenario IMO.

How I think the game will go:

Patriots blowout the Falcons.

Easiest SB we ever play in, coming right up.
I know it's probably not going to happen, but at the moment I kinda feel the same way.

It may change, but you never know. As we all know.

Who has the better game plan or which team may sh!t the bed.

We will see.

I will say this; The Atlanta fans are VERY, VERY confident. Me no likey.

They are confident because they don't know what it's like to be punched in the mouth. The Pats do.

I wouldn't worry about what the Atlanta fans feel.

Atlanta will be good. **** teams don't get this far. It'll tight, and i think we will pip them 35-27

Same score as SB XXXVIII:
Pats 32-29

My prediction: the dirty bird...

...is taken down.

I don't give a **** how it goes as long as we end up in the W column.

I keep going back and forth whether this will be 30-24 or 34-20. The latter scenario would involve a garbage time ATL score to make it that way.

I thunk the offenses will come out on fire and out up record first half numbers. Then the defenses show up and we have a relatively quiet 2nd half (like the Pats/Panthers SB, but reversed...except the winner of course...Hey, I'm a Patriot fan after all).

I like how you factored in an abundance of penalties on the Pats from Goodell's NFL, and Pats still win.

Oh, believe me, I'm not worried about Atlanta fans. A little annoyed, but definitely not worried. If there is any fan base that knows a SB can go either way, that would be us. 18-1

Nah.

Just kidding, that would be cool.
