He isn't taking the route I would by staying away from the team and being a diva, but hey he dropped to Rd 6 for a reason, despite being a Rd 2 talent.

I don't think he is being a diva. He doing what is in his interests. It is a business. Trainers outside the Pats organization can be better.

Just making a point that there's always better ways to get a players point across.. Boutte will see a contract I can see him being traded to NO his home town!

I think Boutte believes the outside training is superior and will further his career more. I doubt there is any animosity.

Makes sense. As you point out lots of players trained outside the facility randy did as well.. I just notice that the way Boutte was around last season as opposed to this is noticeable that is all.. I like Boutte and want to see him do well here or elsewhere in the league..

Yes. He's absolutely a feel good story though. I'm interested to see what The team does with pop.. as Vrabel mentioned during the combine he wants pop more involved than he was last season..

Yup. If it ain't broke don't fix it. I think the old dink and dunk offense is vital for Maye to learn especially with his Oline issues. I didn't see alot of Maye's offseason preparation and training yet. I really enjoyed watching the tips he's learning. Well we will see, the offseason is young. He's gotta be like Rocky, leave the wife alone and fully dedicate to correcting his flaws.

Yes! I believe Drake can operate in that type of offense but what I see happening here is Vrabel's taken a page out the 04 patiots book.. the additions of R. Gilliam and Julian Hill are essential to the line of scrimmage.. the offense projects to be more multiple.. look at Buffalo they have a formidable running game and it all starts up from with thier offensive line and blocking TEs and WRs.. being able to run the ball eating clock will allow the WRs favorable match ups and just allows the offense to flow seamlessly.

Pop is athletic but does not seem to know the offense - we have seen that before with Brady too.

Yes. I believe he will be better this upcoming season. Josh knows what he can/can't do with pop in the offense having a full season to see this.

Here's the thing:

YES, the Pats improved overall between the draft and free agency both in adding talent AND depth, but so did EVERYBODY else.

In the vacuum of the shorts and t-shirts football season, any fan of ANY team can look at their new pickups and say, "We are better now".
All I have ever asked of the Pats (and I have been there from day one), is that they field a COMPETITIVE team. A team that, in a vast majority of their games will have a chance to win the game well into the 4th quarter. Also, to be entertaining and "likeable", a fun team to watch and root for and every now and then reach the top levels of the league in a given season and over the last quarter century or so, we've enjoyed an unbelievable run.

Last season was a perfect example of that, plus a LOT of things that could have gone wrong... DIDN'T. Even during the LONG dark times of the '22-24 seasons, there were always double digit games that were one TD or less games. That is the nature of the NFL. So, there will ALWAYS be a lot of games where a bad bounce, bad call, untimely injury can cost us a game so easily. That just comes with the nature of the game.

So, it is easy to think, "We won 14 games last season, and we have improved at multiple position thru the draft and FA, ergo we should win even more THIS season". Hey, we should know it doesn't work that way. History is rife with superbowl losers being worse the next year. Hell, we didn't even make the playoffs the year after we WON, in 2001. So, for me, an 11 win season this year would be a fantastic result, and given the schedule, we would need an improved team to accomplish that feat.

In 2002 suffered some injuries on defense and it affected the season.. I'm at 11-14 wins myself..

His targets were cut in half last season. I'd expect them to be cut in half again if Brown comes in. That'll get him down around 25 targets for the season.
