How cold did you guys say it was going to be game day?

There is no way to prepare for that wind. I would take zero degree weather over whipping wind any day.

I've sat in stands in ski gear with hand and feet warmers, and by the 4th quarter it's unbearable, no matter how prepared you are.

Whatever team has the lead at the end of the 3rd quarter wins, because it is close to impossible to withstand the cold for that long. 2 1/2 hours yes. But your body just quits during the 3rd hour.

Hmm, interesting. I wonder why the Pats are 17-0 and the Chargers aren't. I also wonder why the Pats kicked the Chargers butt this year. Believe me, you guys don't have a chance. Everyone knows it, why don't you?

I won't go that far. Bolts beat the defending SB champs (and the refs) in the RCA dome and have won 7 their last games. They are not the same team we beat week 2.

But like Bill I am not worried about the weather, I am worried about the Chargers.

because you guys are very good at the passing game
and chargers are very good at the running game and stopping the run.

Makes little sense. If you say we can't pass in the run what makes you think your team can? They won't be able to pass either. That leaves the defense free to stop your run game. Brady will be more accurate in the wind than Rivers will be.

its not that simple

you have a better passing game
thats it - you are not better in any other aspect of the game

every single game you won was based on your passing.
take that away and the house of cards would come crashing down

every game this year your defense gave up alot of points
you guys never win based on defense

we do

Sounds like a Chargers fan trying to talk himself into believing something. What would take away the Patriots passing game? Even in bad weather we still pass, and it's not going to snow or rain Sunday. The wind was screamin' in both the Baltimore and (second) Jets games. Same result.

New England has won 17 of its last 19 games when the
kickoff temperature has been 34 degrees or colder.
Since 1993, the Patriots are 15-1 when it’s 30 degrees or less.
Tom Brady is 25-2 as a starter when the game-time
temperature is less than 40 degrees.

The Patriots are 9-0 all-time in games in Foxborough when snow
has fallen during the game. Three of the Patriots’ last six home
playoff games have involved frozen precipitation, with all three
contests ending in memorable victories.

and which team was the first to beat down the PATTYS
at FOXBOROUGH ???

So this game will be hell on the fans and players.
it will come down to who is more hungry

all the experts, vegas and everyone was sure that INDY
was going to roll over us too.

didnt happen

now if we have our second string q-back we are toast.
(or in this case a ice cube)

But if Rivers plays well and we dont freeze to death in a FROZEN hell hole
called Boston

I like the odds

I actually thought you guys had a shot against the Colts. And I think you have a shot against the Pats too. But this weather will help you theory is nuts.

The good thing is the Pats gets to practice in this weather all week.It will be very hard for the Chargers to adjust to it.

Boston a hell hole? I live in southern California, and I have relatives in San Diego. I have spent many happy hours in San Diego, and I certainly love the weather here, but I really have to tell you...I lived 55 years in Bath and Portland, Maine, and spent many many good times in Boston.

In my opinion, Boston is the greatest little big city in the country. There are more restaurants, more nightclubs and lounges, more colleges, more legit theater, museums, orchestras and symphonies than most cities, and plenty of professional and college sports action to satisfy the most demanding fan.

Yep..it is a beast in the winter, but unless you've spent time in Boston, you will never know the kind of personality that is part and parcel of the Hub.

Robin, you are sounding very much like the many other ethnocentric blonde babes who inhabit this part of so. Cal.....nice looking, but a couple tacos short of a combo plate.

Skipped right over the post about the Chargers giving up more points than the Pats this year and having a lower ranked D, huh?

Look, last year before the game in San Diego, this board was invaded by Chargers fans telling us that the Pats would get crushed. Then the Chargers lost.

For months leading up to the start of this season, all we heard was that the Chargers were going to get their revenge for that loss and pound the Patriots on thier own field. Then the Chargers got smoked.

So, here we go again. Seems you folks just haven't learned your lesson and we're hearing the same smack all over again. Maybe you should all just keep quiet until you actually have something to brag about.

Now, back to the higher ranked Pats D not winning any games for them. Seems you weren't paying much attention to their games this season, but go and ask the Colts, Ravens, Eagles and Giants how they feel about the Pats D that stepped up and shut them down at the end of games.

That's all you need to know.

yes it will

I was hoping to see more normal temps.

Robin, that's what you don't understand...those are normal temperatures for New England. Massachusetts is not San Diego County.

Hey there RobinSanDiego. Welcome to PatsFans. Certainly, SD has a terrific team, or they would not be here. Keep in mind though that all we heard last week is that you could not run on Jax, so don't even try. Then Maroney rushes for 122 yards at 5.5 yards per. Also, LT hyperextended his knee, and that can't be the best news.

I see a very talented SD team. I also see (no disrespect intended) a very, very immature team. Rivers, and Igor, and Phillips, and RoidMan, are immature, to say it in a nice way. That seldom equates to winning a big game.

I'm not trash talking. I am just stating what I see. As for the wind. That ain't windy. That wind is nothing for Brady who throws in it all the time. That wind could be an issue with a San Diego QB.

Good luck to your team, but not too much.

The Patriots easily won last weekend with a short passing attack and a running game, the only thing that 22mph wind is going to do is take away the long ball...that being said, im sure Norv wont realize that and will still tripple moss, leaving the short game still wide open.

ever hear of clinging to straws?

we're built to be able to run and stop the run.
Maybe early in the season, but in the post season you've run for an average 83.5 yards per game while the Pats have 145.

The Chargers allowed an average of 81.5 yards a game, while the Pats allowed 80 yards.

If you are built to run and stop the run in the playoffs, you aren't very good at it.
