Uhh... I think we might be better because more consistent then. I guess you forgot that "Do your job" was the mantra long before it became a marketing gimmick and that's what it boils down to.
Like I said before I prefer a solid player like Ninkovich over inconsistent, unreliable players like Collins. I rather take the 2-3 yard loss on plays knowing this is the worst it will be over a player where it can go from sack to 28 yard loss. And I'd say that the coaching staff also values reliability and consistency over players that go often up but then also sometimes down.
And all three players had some form of inconsistency in common. Out of those three Chandler Jones was the only one who actually seemed to be leadership material and who could be of use this year. Unfortunately, the way he was used here would have never matched the money he was expecting on his first real contract so it was the end of line here anyway. In return we got at least 4-5 cheap years of Thuney and Mitchell, so that's also the one trade that delivered on a value scale.
