Holy Moly, it's Brisset and Edelman

Is it possible that after Garoppolo had a setback the medical staff told Belichick that it didn't matter if he wanted to play, he was not cleared to play? Because I never saw any evidence on the field (the only aspect of football not riddled with rumor and innuendo) that Garoppolo was afraid of taking a hit. To the contrary, on the hit that took him out of the game, he was accused of not protecting himself enough. We can't have it both ways.

After re-watching that last game Brisssett didn't really look that bad throwing after the injury. Weird JG is inactive though, head scratcher.
If he was healthy enough to play, he'd be starting. Since he isn't, there's no point having him active.

A voice of sanity.

Russell Wilson is playing on an MCL and High ankle.

That's the voice of football reason. Of all people I can't believe I am agreeing with Felger.

Bring it @QuantumMechanic

Answer this. Does TB play this week if he's in Jimmys position? You'll say doubt it but we both know that would be a lie.
And if he sucks when he does? Because there have certainly been some games he's played in that he probably shouldn't have played in and sucked doing it.

So how do those injuries hurt his arm strength again?

Bingo. Time to trade him. Of he can't play today, what does that say about him? Smiling, throwing in practice but can't play when it matters?

GTFO of Foxborough. That attitude is toxic, for a QB especially.

I am hoping this is sarcasm, or tongue in cheek. People making comments about a football player's toughness from their computer chair without having access to medical records is kind of ridiculous.

Yes, he plays, but that's because he has a proven record of 15 years of excellence and fortitude. You can afford to throw Brady to the wolves when he's injured, because he can go toe-to-toe with aggressive, NFL defenses.

It's a different story when you're talking about a QB making his third start. And if the team is keeping him from playing, then who are we to question the judgement of the coaches and medical staff?

We'll never know the answer to the real reason he isn't playing. We just won't. It may be telling how they discuss him, but he will fade once TB comes back.

If there was ever a case where you really didn't need to be conservative with getting a guy to 100%, this is probably it. It shouldn't really matter much if he's holding the clipboard 10% better for the next month.

Having said that, if it's call and he's not willing to go, I can understand that a bit. He hasn't got his big contract yet, and he knows the team is looking out for its own interests before his. Or maybe the team doesn't have faith in him to maintain a > Brissett level of play while hurt, and it was the team's decision to make it inactive. Most quarterbacks aren't like Brady and won't play with surprising effectiveness through just about anything without even acknowledging they're hurt.

Who's to say he doesn't aggravate the injury more? Then what? We don't need this game. We get Brady back next week and Jimmy gets to heal until he's fully healthy. We may need him later if God forbids, something happens to TB.

Now that Garoppolo has been ruled out, I expect this to be a low-scoring game

This won't be another shutout like the Houston game. Both teams are gonna run the ball. Both teams are gonna be aggressive on defense, and whoever is more resilient and has the better in-game management will prevail

I'd still put my money on the Pats to win this...they always find a way

This is another example of the mediots making a mountain of a molehill. JG tried to play this game. This was likely his last chance to make a 2nd impression. I'm sure he's devastated about not playing. But if you can't make the throws you can't male the throws, its as simple as that.

I'm definitely disappointed, and I don't think Brissett gives us the best chance to win, and Rex is celebrating already in the Bills lockerroom. But it is what it is.

Bring it loser boy. This is football. You don't participate in practice at any level multiple days (with this injury) in a row and then sit.

Everyone plays on pain. It's football. Go play power puff football. Embarrass myself? Right. Go talk to Hightower and what pain he went through in the '13 season.

You can go sit around and drink lattes with Jimmy. I'll take the real dudes.

Gronk missed a few games while limited in practice. I'd love to see you go tell him to his face that he's a ****y for not playing those games. Then I'll take your post a bit more seriously.

Us not knowing is why your comments about him are so extreme. How do you make judgments on JG without having all the info?

Its already started, goodell wants this win badley.

Because I see other high end QBs playing through a lot of injuries. My comments aren't extreme at all. The extreme comments are all those giving him a pass. That's extreme.

How do you know it's the exact same injury??
