Vegas reacted quickly to the announcement that Garoppolo will be inactive.

The betting line on the Pats-Bills game was immediately cut in half, from the Patriots being favored by seven to 3½ points.

Wait. Why is thread titled "Holy Moly, It's Brissett and Edelman" as if this was a surprise. No different from the Houston game

When will someone ask Bill if Garopollo and Brissett have both leapfrogged Brady leaving him a gameday inactive?
god, would love to see his reaction to that. Guessing lots of snot/throat clearing sounds involved.

Garoppolo was practicing and throwing this week and had 10 more days to heal. Wouldn't say that's "no different".

The real question everyone needs to ask is this.

Does Tom play?

Whatever the answer to that is what should be here as well. Same standard. It's simple. That how it needs to approached and it's not a hard concept.
Brady skipped a whole SEASON because of some little owie. Wimpy little girl. JG would never do that.

Another reminder of one of the key reasons why Brady is the GOAT, he is one tough SOB. His durability is one of his greatest strengths because the most important part of being great is getting on the field.

Did anyone catch Jay Glazer's report on Fox? I tuned in at the very end, but I thought I heard him say someone was "furious" about something with this situation, but I only caught the tail end of the report.

I love it when the "sources" are dead wrong.
We should establish an award. Name it after the sportswriter whose name I forget Jessica something? when she predicted a big DL signed that never happened.

I am comfortable with Brissett at QB today. I thought all along he would start. It will be a running game hope we can open the hole for Blount.

Thought they were not going to make this decision until noon..
They have to report inactives something like 90 minutes before the game which realistically means the list has to be submitted at least an hour before that.

Bring it @QuantumMechanic

Answer this. Does TB play this week if he's in Jimmys position? You'll say doubt it but we both know that would be a lie.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. It's mister internet tough guy. Did the girl scouts beat your ass and steal your cookie money the other day and now you have to compensate for that online? Especially when pro players are in more pain each week than you've been in your entire life.

Anyways, if an injury saps Brady's arm strength enough to prevent him from making the throws the coaches feel he needs to be able to make that day, he doesn't play.

The pissed part makes me happy. Waaaaaaaaay to many apologists here. I had zero illusions he'd be ready for Thursday night. 2 weeks later? Yeah. I expect more. Much more.

The question is...is the team not allowing him to play? Because if that's the case, I'd understand. You don't wanna put someone in who can jepordize the game... especially in their third NFL start

Well that's unfortunate, would've liked to have seen one more start from Jimmy. Will be interesting to see how the offense changes with a full week of planning rather than 4 days to try to get Jimmy as ready as possible. I dunno if last week's offense will be enough, assuming the Bills don't fumble 2 kickoffs like the Texans did.

Not that it would change the gameplan by that much- considering I expect this to be a run-heavy game. This is a defense that even Brady has trouble with sometimes, never mind Garo or even Brissett. I expect we'll go heavy on run, with some sweeps and read options tossed in to stretch the field, horizontally.

Ryan is going to come with a blitz heavy package- he can't help it, he just has to do it, and I expect us to play off that. If he were truly adaptable, he'd stack to stop the run and challenge us to throw, but I doubt it.

We'll see.

I think with Jimmy, we would have thrown quite a bit more. Last year, it seemed like the short passing game was the preferred method of attacking the D.

In the first game, Brady threw 59 times and we only ran 15. In the second matchup, it was a bit more balanced but still 39 passes to 22 runs.

So it will be interesting to see if we do try to run the ball more or how things change with Jacoby in there.

Bill is going to play whoever gives the team the best chance to win. Remember Brady sat in the second half in the AFCCG vs the Steelers when he said he could have played. Brady now has earned the cachet to play hurt. JG being inactive tells me he is still significantly hurt.

Get Jimmy to 100%, give JB some real game reps. Work on running game and run blocking.

3-1 when Brady comes back isn't so bad if that's our record after today's game.

If there was ever a case where you really didn't need to be conservative with getting a guy to 100%, this is probably it. It shouldn't really matter much if he's holding the clipboard 10% better for the next month.

Having said that, if it's call and he's not willing to go, I can understand that a bit. He hasn't got his big contract yet, and he knows the team is looking out for its own interests before his. Or maybe the team doesn't have faith in him to maintain a > Brissett level of play while hurt, and it was the team's decision to make it inactive. Most quarterbacks aren't like Brady and won't play with surprising effectiveness through just about anything without even acknowledging they're hurt.
