Holding Calls on Dallas

I felt the same way. I was thinking it almost seemed unfair, and you KNOW the message boards in Indy and Pitt would be full of comments on referee favoritism.

On the replay of the play where the guard grabbed Bruschi around the thigh and tackled him, I couldn't help laughing out loud. IIRC, that was next to Barber's "hole."

My wife asked: "you're not allowed to do that?"

lmfao
referee favoritsm ended for the patriots with the tuck play 6 years ago.
when your wife see's the holding, thats an indisputeable penalty.

what was unfair is how badly we overpowered their O-line to draw those calls. men against boys. and remember their offense was only on the field for 46 plays/21 minutes.........so they were fresh and beat badly to boot.

During the game, Dallas was getting hit with quite a few holding calls.

I honestly felt a little bad for them and took the attitude of, "C'mon refs, just let them play".

Then I saw the last two holding calls, where both Pats players, one being Bruschi, were not held......but absolutely tackled.

At that point, I knew "the Boys" were wearing out. They had nothing left at that point.

I've never seen holding so blatant. My guilt disapted quickly.

LOL-over on the CMB, we're complaining about the EXACT same thing(i.e. D-Ware getting held alot).

Nonetheless-Congrats on your win.

I wonder what referree crew is officiating the Pats-Colts game. I am praying for Hochuli.

I think the NFL keeps the lid pretty tight on these. I don't even think the crews themselves know this early. Less notice means less time for a nefarious person -- like a gambler -- to try to get to someone, at least that's how the NFL sees it.

Hochuli is fine, but there are many others who would be as good. I want a non-interventionist crew -- a crew that looks for advantage gained and lets the teams decide it. Give me Corrente or yesterday's crew or a few others and it shouldn't matter. Anyone anytime anywhere can make a bad game-changing call, though.

I agree..there were a ton NOT called...
Absolutely - I think the refs could have called a lot more but because there were so many that they DID call they hesitated to call even more.

BTW, the Dallas 79 yard kickoff return also should have been called back because Rodney was blatantly blocked in the back as he chased down the ball carrier.

Amen. I thought Dallas was going to send in the Iron Shiek, to put Jarvis in the Camel Clutch.

+100 points for the classical reference.

"Dallas, number vun! New England *hock* *ptui*"
