Held Hostage by the OT Position 2025

Yes there was. Many thought Campbell was a better fit at Guard. I liked Kelvin Banks, Jr. out of Texas at #4 who was a consensus top ten pick at Tackle and judged by many as the most NFL ready blind-side tackle. The Patriots had lots of good options at OT. Doesn't matter right now. You can't swing a dead cat at training camp without hitting an OT.

I trust Doug Marrone to assemble a capable OL from the group at training camp. The two guys who got the raw deal last season were G Layden Robinson and T Caeden Wallace, both of whom had the credentials to be NFL linemen. It's unclear what will become of either of them right now. They are essentially still rookies after last season's OL chaos.

The depth chart has them as backups on the roster, but I don't know about that, particularly once cuts start coming and veterans are available as free agents or practice squad acquisitions. I'd keep an eye on who gets cut by Tampa Bay - that is a deep and very talented OL.
Good Scouting I would also watch the Texans WR depth chart: they seen to be very Loaded there. Would love to get John Metchie III from them.

Whatever your concerns are, LT will be improved this year. The LT can run block; that's a good thing. The LT is a rookie and will learn and improve. The coaching will be better. The game planning will be better. Health as always is the main concern. Meanwhile, Moses will need help with speed rushers on the other side.

Brutal schedule and we have the toughest division in football. I will say 9-8 or 10-7. I think Detroit wins the division though.
Two tough game in Four Days to start just brutal. I hate those Thursday night Games for NFL Teams.

The thing I love about McDaniels scheme is that: he chips with TE's and RB's a lot and not leave guys on a Island unnecessarily.

There were plenty of scouts who questioned if he should be OT1 but to your point he was the consendus
Campbell has 32.66" long arms.

We are talking a difference of 7/8 " compared to the other guys.
Has short arms - 33 .50"

Walter Football used to be one of the best, but theyre still good. 2025 NFL Scouting Report: Armand Membou – WalterFootball
and Banks
Short arms too - 33.50" Kelvin Banks Jr. - MockDraftable
and a healthy Simmons were listed as best prospect on some boards though not a majority
Too bad Simmons was not healthy. He missed 10 games in 2024 with that torn left knee tendon.

Simmons dropped to KC because 4 teams passed him by. The Chiefs need an LT yesterday and so do the Pats. Simmons is stepping back on the field vs Professional players after missing all last year. NFL LTs dont typically wear knee braces and now Simmons has to face edge rushers to his left side.

Too big of a risk with the # 4 pick.

The Bears will stink.

Williams will be a Bust.
They got him a lot of help with Thuney and Ozzie Tarpilo along the OL: and they got WR L Burden too.

You're contradicting yourself. Earlier this thread (or perhaps a different one) you said we can't judge a rookie until 3 years later. Now Williams will be a bust because had bad moments behind a terrible Oline last year? Sounds a lot like our guy. I don't know what Williams will be, but I saw some good and bad from him last year. Maybe take your own advice and give him time before declaring him a bust.

CNN deluxe.

The full quote included "unless the player is horrid"

The Bears are notorious for drafting Bust QBs and passing on Franchise QBs.

Isn't Thuney at the end?

Yup.

Williams wasn't horrid last year. He had more bad moments for sure, but others where he looked quite good. Keep in mind his Oline last year was about as bad as ours, it was horrid. The have fixed the Oline, they have a tom off skilled guys. and they have a good offensive coach. He has been setup to succeed this year, so let's see how he does.

Williams looked lost last season.

Im calling it here and now that Williams is a BUST.

Remember when he wanted part ownership in the team that took him? Typical USC QB. This season he has been mouthing off about Brady how he cheated to win championships. Good or bad news for you is that Williams is predicting that he will win championships with all his talent.

Why kind of a Dope runs his mouth after the awful rookie season that he had? I guess well blame the Bears OL for his 10 fumbles. Maybe he was oblivious to the pressure that was coming and could not check out of the play, but instead had to stand there like a Scarecrow?

The Bears are a Trian wreck waiting to happen and Williams is at the controls.

Wow. obv u have a huge hate on for Caleb. I couldn't care less if he succeeds or not. So your'e calling your bust shot now, but have said rooks need 3 years to assess them, got it. And u think Chi's Oline had nothing to do with his fumbles? Were any of them because quick pressure? My guess is their Oline played a role.

Caleb Williams have Joe Thuney and BC's Ozzie Trapilo for help. Plus they are accomplished at WR and TE...it's now Caleb's move.

Agreed and I said as much earlier. The Oline should be good, the skilled position players are excellent and he has a really good offensive coach. He has been setup for success, all on Caleb now.

Duly noted: I wanted Ben Johnson *Great Offensive Mind* if Mike Vrabel wasn't available.

I'm not calling him a Bust either: remember when people thought Josh Allen was a Bust?? Where are they now?? I think the class might go down as one of the Better QB classes in history with good health of course. Caleb Williams jury still out - Daniels plays like a Hofer - Maye has Great Potential - McCarthy was shut down Inc - Nix looked really good and Penix Jr played well when he got his chance. The class overall have a ways to go but it's way better than last Draft.

Certainly does have the makings of one of the better QB first rd drafts in many years. Maybe a couple of these guys flame out, but right now it looks like an incredibly strong QB class.

Dude should just shut up and prove it on the field. All the boasting and predictions never pan out.

With QBs its is a bit different since they touch the ball every single play. You can see relatively soon who has a chance to make it and who will not. Last season I saw far more composure with Maye. The fact that Chicago passed on Maye bodes well for his future.

You can make all the excuses that you want. It makes no difference to me.

I called Mac Jones a BUST from the beginning. I called Josh Allen a Stud if he received the right coaching. Why? Because Allen had the size, arm, toughness, no attitude, raw materials from the beginning.
