Sometimes I feel like it's almost too easy for players that has a rough past and come here, to say it doesn't matter now because "they are now Patriots and will do things the Patriot way".

But I liked the interview, as other have said, he really surprised me.

Just saw the interview. He sounded relaxed and comfortable with the media which is a plus especially with Boston's media scrutiny.

Can you link the part where he strongly hints the PAtriots are switching to a 4-3?

The Patriots' scheme. "It's somewhat of an adjustment from what I was doing the last two years, but I'm kind of getting back to things I normally used to do. I just have to get my legs wet again and then I'll be OK."

Don't know or care to read into what he is saying here. Just thought I'd help you out.

Okay, this is all well and good but has anyone pulled up his first presser for the Redskins? I'd be curious to compare and contrast.

I understand your point, but I'd like to think these are 2 different teams, situations, and coaches.

so, while pressers are 100% pointless bs, that's all you have right now, so I wouldn't say it means much, but he hopped through the only hoop that was in front of him, as expected --- that's no discredit to him.

I'm not gonna say the guy will terrorize the league, and I'm not gonna say he'll get cut --- it'll play itself out with and without anybody's predictions, so we can stay positive and find out when it happens.

I'm holding out hope the guy can turn himself around a bit, and at least contribute a chunk of snaps.

there are plenty of people outside the pats family who think big vince is some dirty *******, but he seems pretty cool to me, and if vince wants to play with the guy that's good enough for me.

the awesome thing about belichick is he doesn't just pay lip service to some bs about playing who you have -- he really means it.
he'll roll with whichever guys get on the field and expect them to win.
this season is about the patriots - not albert haynesworth.

I dont know how that could be considered STRONGLY HINTING at a 43

Today I heard Bruschi, Troy Brown and McGinest on the radio stating that they were switching to the 4-3.

If the old guard is saying it, it's gotta be valid...right?

That would be the first real legitimate evidence. Can you expand on this? Are you saying they all said the Patriots are definitely changing their base defense to a 43?

Bruschi and Brown were discussing it this afternoon on EEI as if it was common knowledge and Macginest was on 98.5 tonight confirming it. I'll see if I can dig up some audio.

My brain says this will implode at some point down the road, not exactly a wild bet. The fanboy in me sees this clip and realizes just how badly Albert has been misrepresented and misunderstood and that everything really has changed and he will now the original Suh before Suh was Suh. Incredible deal, the force is with us.

Here is a link to his first Redskins press conference...

Of course, I like his press conference today better, but at this point its all just words and not actions.

Thanks for finding this. Yep, after reading this I definitely still consider this an experiment. I don't remember his early days with the Skins.....when was Zorn given the boot? It seems like he expected to be used one way and I know Shanahan and his crew switched to a 3-4 and all hell broke loose.

eta: well, according to Wikipedia, he played Zorn's last year and was questioning Greg Blache's defensive scheme pretty early on. So yeah. I mean, I KNOW the coaching staff there was and still is a bunch of morons, but I'm still really reserved on this guy.
