I hope they cut him and ,..bring in Pat White (when he gets cut by washington).....at least he can complete....over 35% of his throws and run the option.....

See this is just ridiculous. Tebow has not been a good quarterback in the NFL by any stretch of the imagination... but Pat White? Really? Pat White can't hit the broad side of a barn either. Personally, if Case Keenum gets cut by the 49ers, I would like to see the team bring him in. He's at least capable of hitting open guys in the pocket while running the read option.

Don't tell that to some people because it's not a case of whether Tim Tebow has "earned" a roster spot, but because it's Tim Tebow he "deserves" a roster spot.

As of today taking account the most recent roster maneuvers, one could argue that two offensive players will be cut that are worthy of a roster spot if the offense was limited to 25 roster players:

QB (2): Brady, Mallett
RB (6): Ridley, Vereen, Blount, Washington, Bolden, Develin
TE (5): Gronkowski, Fells, Hoomanawanui, Ballard, Sudfeld
WR (6): Amendola, Edelman, Thompkins, Dobson, Boyce, Slater
OT (4): Solder, Vollmer, Cannon, Svitek
OG (2): Mankins, Connolly
OC (2): Wendell, Stankiewitch

Three players on your list I do not have in my 53 are Stankiewitch at Center, Develin at FB, and Fells at TE. Connolly will serve as the backup Center.

The 8th and 9th OL are a mystery to me. I didn't have Stankiewitch on my roster just because i don't know who he is, other than a UDF. He's a Penn State grad, I wonder if he has support from old friend Bill O'Brien. Is there something out there that says Staniewich impressed in camp? There are three or four other guys on the roster - any word on any of them sticking?

Why have a 9th OL?

You have to be kidding me. Tebow is way better than Pat White. The Pats should trade Mallet while his stock is still high, get some draft picks and make Tebow teh backup QB.

Actually, I'm researching 2014 NFL Draft Prospects in one Internet Explorer Window while pestering a Tebowite in another Internet Explorer Window.

My 2014 NFL Mock Draft requires another iteration.

Internet Explorer?

If the Pats cut Bolden and keep Tebow I will be pixxed.

Absolutely. Everything needs to be taken into account. The failure in logic on both sides seems to be one side weighing preseason play more than practice and one side weighing practice more than preseason play. Both sides should be given due consideration.

I took the practice sessions into account and the vast majority of the reports were to the effect that he was playing poorly and cannot run their offense. I also waited to see him play in pre-season games before passing judgement on him, it was only then that I decided it was time to pull the plug on the experiment, his offseason work has not payed off, he still can't pass and his record of putting the football on the ground is as bad or worse than any player in the league, I see absolutely no point in continuing to try and get something out of a player who is in his fourth season and getting worse by the day. His supporters continue to act as if he is some rookie project who just needs some time and a chance to develop when the truth is that he has exhausted his chances and would simply be taking the spot of a player who could actually help them this season.

BTW-Kontra, I'm only responding to you on this because you and jack asked me to let it go and i did, but when you then brought my name into it I feel the need to clarify how I came to the conclusion that I did, and it was not based on just the pre-season games. Tebow has already been given more chances than he deserves imo and they should end the experiment now and not waste another second on him. As for his supporters it will just be nice to see them move on to the CFL or Arena league as they don't give a rats ass about any team he's on, only that he is on one.

In other words, his supporters are thinking like Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels. Silly us!

As for taking the spot of a player, pah! Nate Ebner? Brandon Bolden? James Develin? We're really going to suffer without those types of Jags.

Apparently 3 years wasn't enough, Timmy needs 6-8 seasons. Talk about special treatment. And the players you listed will actually be picked up if released, Timmy will be on his way to the CFL or Arena League.

16 Timmy supporters say Timmy has earned a spot, but not one can say what he has done to earn it, go figure, can't say that I have ever seen that before.

Again, if it's based on playing time and practice reports alone, he should be cut. The practice reports are mixed and he's looked anywhere from inconsistent to absolutely brutal. But if it's to give the defense looks against the read option (which neither Brady nor Mallett can run), then I could see him getting a spot.

I wasn't aware he had 3 years under the tutelage of either BB or JM. I'm going to give you three names: Danny Woodhead, Rob Ninkovich, Mike Vrabel. All were jags elsewhere before coming to the Pats. Using your logic, all should have been failures here too.

He's made the playoffs and has a winning record as a starting qb in the NFL plus he can do other things for the team like play Tight End, Fullback and Special Teams.

If the pats cut anyone and keep tebow, I'll be pixxed.

Typical politically correct anti-Tebow nonsense. You'd rather keep some 4th stringer who contributes nothing to the team or organization than a qb with a winning record in the NFL who is also capable of playing wildcat and other positions. Brilliant.

Considering Bolden plays on all ST units ... not a very good example.
