If he did it, High, Chung, Cannon, DMC, Bolden, and Slater will be the only remaining players from the 2014 team.

That and the Vikings totally ****ting themselves on the way to a certain victory at Arrowhead when Mahomes was injured.

KC was lucky they even made the playoffs last year.

Are you saying Jules didn't work hard in before 2013? How do you know he wasn't ready in 2012?

The minute he became a starter in 2013 he became a 1000 yd receiver. He had been in the system 4 years already.

All due respect but that pretty much tells me he was ready to be a major contributor in 2012.

Recall that they didn't actually have a WR coach last year, Joe Judge took that on while mainlining as Special Teams coach and Head Coach aspirant. Probably a big mistake with two rookie WR's starting...

All I ask out of Harry is that he becomes the next Terrell Owens (minus the drama), that’s not too much to ask.

All joking aside, I believe he will have the 2nd most receptions behind Edelman when it comes to Pat’s receivers this year. I think he will have 45+ catches this year, but I expect the Pats to be a run heavy team. Lots of 2 TE sets, run the ball at least 50+ % of the time.

Seriously ? Where did I imply he didn't work hard before ? I said you are making the mistake of projecting the developed player onto a developmental version of himself assuming that it was just the lack of a playing opportunity that prevented him from breaking out earlier.

The reality is that if he was really coming up that strong in practice and was ready to be a major contributor then the Pats would have extended him after Welker left as a cheap and reasonable plan B and not let him become an afterthought in FA.

It took the Giants saying no after a visit and him signing a minimum 1 yr deal to be back on the 2013 team. It all indicates to me that BB & co. certainly didn't project him to be a major contributor at that point.

Yes, I had forgotten that, and you are right. That could be considered a huge mistake, leaving me with a WTF and SMH reaction. It is the first legitimate evidence I've seen that the Pats undervalue the position.

So you agree JE worked hard from 2009-2012 to put himself in a position to succeed?

...and from 2009 to 2012, I felt very comfortable saying JE would have been very productive in this offense. Sorry you didn't see the same thing.

Remember when Bill tried to move JE ahead of WW in 2012? Only reason he didn't completely overtake him was b/c WW was a better player. Not because JE wasn't already capable.

    Meh. Thats business.

In 2012 he hadn't put the numbers up on the field so they weren't going to overpay. In 2013 they let him find his market and were correct in doing so and already had signed Amendola.

The point still stands doesn't it? Edelman still got the time to develop

    Absolutely!

Anyone who has given up/stated Harry has no chance after a single year is flat-out wrong.

    Agreed...

Keep in mind the one year also had the following factors
    - Brady was checked out, no Mini Camps/OTAs
    - Harry was injured in Preseason, so not many training camp reps with Brady
    - Missed half the season
    - Brady was pissed off and wouldn't throw to anyone but Edelman/Sanu/White
    - OL was suspect...

Not an ideal first year.... IMO I think year 2 is very much a "reset" for Harry/Meyers

Give Harry a break. Brady never liked throwing to rookies, except for Mitchell and Branch and Givens. As soon as rookies like Chad Jackson, Boyce, Dobson, Taylor Price, and Bethel, went to other teams to work with other QBs, they tore it up!

Please enlighten us bozos & idiots what exactly our specific bias is, other than, you know, actually watching them play...

    Limited sample size.

If we see the exact same player this year (or whenever the next season begins), then we can move to the bust conversation.

I'm amazed at the anti Harry comments on this thread. You would think you would be happy that he's trying to improve on his weaknesses.

I'm happy with his attitude this offseason. I'm looking at Josh - make sure to do whatever it takes to get this kid some confidence.
