Harry looks quicker

Jules didn't play b/c the greatest slot WR in NFL history was ahead of him on the depth chart.

No one is blocking Harry. He absolutely cannot have a Chad Jackson kind of year.

Good point.

Am I missing something here? How does Harry look quicker?

I don’t know I guess games or practices have been happening, better yet maybe it’s the holy grail of OTA.

Somebody told me that the ref was seen on the internet as an avid Ravens' fan. I chose to believe that rather than waste my time looking. Knowing the integrity of the man who told me, it's more probable than not that it's true.

It was a flashback to Danny Woodhead running for the go ahead TD against the Chargers in the final seconds and having it called back on some phantom holding call.

Harry is working with the footwork doctor down in Houston with Deebo Samuel and Mecole Hardman, two rookie receivers who did pretty well in their first season. I suppose they went there because they're afraid of being labeled busts on fan sites like this one... or maybe they just went to perfect their craft.

AJ Brown and Deebo Samuel weren't perfect their rookie season, at one point the 49er media were asking Shanahan if Deebo would hit the bench due to route running mistakes.

The difference between them and Harry was repetitions and the desire of the organization to force feed them the ball. Harry only got to play for 5 minutes in a completely dysfunctional passing attack.

The "bust" label is premature at best, ridiculous is more like it.
Please stop, Woz! You’re making too much sense..

This was all part of the plan for Harry if you've been watching him or listening to Bacon. It's all about efficiency with Harry. Less is more. Quick off the line, decisive & sharp at the top of his route.

I'm very excited and definitely not giving up after 48 hours in the NFL. Harry is the kinda player that has to be fed. Has to be trusted. Stidham is young enough to where he doesn't have a check list like Brady. Just a whole different dynamic there.

This is from a year, year/half ago. So again it's not like he didn't have to work on some things. He had a rough start but it's incredibly early and this was always the process with him

...

Takes a min to get going.

Has to work on release. False steps, wasted motion don't help when he isn't lightening quick.

Team has to stop gadget plays. Outside/Inside. Slants, crossers more often.

At times Stance is high when he's not getting the ball. Low when targeted. TX TECH GM.

Might never be a dominant #1, who knows, who cares. He's an impact player. Once he gets around legit NFL talent look out!

Sure but you said you want speed and he has speed to burn.

With the exception of Harry, every WR has a plausible scenario in which they will not be on the Week 1 roster.

That means JE11 could be traded.

Just gotta see how it plays out.
BB dares not do such a thing.

sure, Edelman is a 10 year vet, who hasn't seen the field as a WR for his first 4 seasons, so maybe Harry gets also a year or two to develop before a final judgment?
Edelman wasn't the 32nd overall pick in his draft either...

I guess that’s good

he couldn’t have looked any slower

Well his health blocked him last year, partly also he blocked himself as he has to improve on several important things (which he is obviously working on instead of chilling at home and watching Netflix) and the chemistry with Brady wasn't there, so it's not like he came in a well rounded easy system for WRs, which was about to force feed him like other rookies have had last year.

Therefore some patience is required to see where he is moving towards this year, everyone is expecting an improvement coming season from him and as mentioned he is at least trying to get improved, so his mindset seems to be right.
Sure he cannot have a Chad Jackson year two campaign but you don't need much to be better than Chad Jackson in his 2nd year with the Patriots as he played like 2 games all season and has had zero receptions. Harry will beat that already vs Miami in Game 1 :D

If he can stay healthy....

Edelman also wasn't playing because he wasn't ready at that point. Don't project what he has become after years of hard work onto his 2010-2012 version. Just because the potential was in him doesn't mean he could have just stepped in and accessed it consistently if only Welker was gone.

The "bust" label is premature at best, ridiculous is more like it.

I mean the intersection of the bozos who call Harry a bust with the ones calling Michel a bust is pretty large which shows you what kind of idiots you are dealing with and also reveals what their specific bias is.

Don't remind me, I haven't been that mad since the replacement refs

My seat is in section 114, right at the level of that a-hole side judge who called Harry out of bounds. I won't divulge the row number because I worry about getting shivved at halftime by some of the posters here. Anyway, coming on the heals of the missed call and early whistle on the Gilmore fumble, that was the most enraged I have been at any game that I have attended in person.

I believe the side judge's number was 102. Fueled by rage and one too many Red Bull-Vodkas, I actually screamed "I'm going to f*cking kill you!" at that guy. In retrospect, that may have crossed the line, but that was what my heart was telling me at the moment.

I found a photo that I took of the video board showing a slow-mo shot:

And then this play (no DPI call):

I also took this photo, mainly to show some friends at home the male cheerleader in mid split, along with a "smdh" text remark.

Texted this screen shot the following day showing that f*ck face had a great view of the play, despite Boger stating otherwise in the postgame interview.

Finally, texted this screen shot to some "Brady can do no wrong" friends, asking them why their God, despite having decent protection on the play, didn't throw it to a WIDE OPEN Meyers on the last drive instead of ? a terrible low percentage throw to the corner of the end zone to one of his binkies....can't remember for sure but whatever decision our senile, rookie-hating ex-QB made, it was the wrong one.

EDIT: Found the box score. The bad throw to a binky was correct, but the specifics of the throw were incorrect. 9A638C55-4AFB-413B-835C-CACBDC592170.jpeg

I hope that you have enjoyed this tour of my camera roll. Sorry, iapatsfan, no **** pics for you.

Great pic of that DPI! I've said more than a few times that a few plays go different in that KC game and he's looked at A LOT different.

I agree with most what you are saying.

But are we actually sure that the zebra who was standing right next to Harry not stepping out was actually in charge of checking his feet and not the one coming on from behind whose sight is blocked by the KC defender on the floor ?

Every zebra has their own job on each play. So I am usually careful assigning blame to any of those specifically even if it looks as blatant as here.

All that being said the decision was still one giant joke and showed the problem with the current challenge system. If the refs are so incompetent that you blow your challenges early on things they messed up you might end up without a challenge at the end. Also it is a reminder not to throw challenges in 50/50 situations but only those were you are damn sure.

Seattle really played to DK strengths and if you watched them he was strictly lined up on one side of the field. Not exactly a WR1 but he had a very nice year. Kinda exactly where I thought he be.

When it comes to Harry I care about converting 3rd down(s). TD's. YPC/R and blocking. That's it. I never expected him to be a top 10-12 WR.

He had a rough go in his rookie year. Injuries. Caught up in Tom leaving, who was clearly frustrated and learning a completely new offense.

Let's give him more than half a season.

If you look at the video of the play, the side judge definitely made the call on that play. He immediately points to the side line, to say that Harry's foot touched the line.

It is not a stretch to say that the referees may have handed Kansas City their Super Bowl with these missed calls in December.

Question: if Harry was that far behind on the fundamentals of being and NFL WR, and in many cases just "doing it wrong", what did the Pats' WR coaches do with him? They had months to work on this stuff. It sounds like the specialist he's working with now is pointing out very basic stuff that he's not heard before.

Good to see posters like you actually contributing facts and effort to this site as opposed to the hawt take incel losers who just post the same doom and gloom garbage over and over.
