Half of the players on the current PATS roster...

were not in the NFL the last time the PATS played in the SB i.e 2011............ Heard it on the radio....

Is there anyone from 07 other than ghost, Brady and wilfork?

The enigma that is BB. Take a solid team and win three titles. Continuously rebuild that team over a decade, not only staying in contention, but going to two more title games, flirting with perfection, and reaching six AFC title games.

It's been a decade. This team is as balanced as any previously, as healthy as any previous contender. Thirty eight hours until kickoff...I look forward to more Psycho-Tom.

Which brings me to another point. We have PT, while Denver went all in with P6...

I just watched "A Football Life, BB." Pats one and two. Moss, constantly caught joking in game, no surprise BB traded his ass. "Hey coach, Halloween party!" And then there were the constant shots of Edelman on the sidelines amidst big plays. I'd assume he is a strong presence in the BB way. He saw the failures, he has seen the struggles. He has seen the players come and go. There was one off-season (the last one) when I wondered if he would be cut.

In hind sight, stupid. Many of us have always touted his ability to go both ways. Thank (the?) God(s) there are zero circumstances I can perceive, outside of some massive secondary pile up disaster, that we may have to call on him this year (defensively). Again, in hind sight, he is a BB baller. That 09 year, stuck on the sideline, he was damn near the only player to show up against the ravens. Sure, there was the drop (was hitting the end zone before the catch...Was early enough it could have changed things damn it), but he gave it his all and created a board wide controversy going into next season (if memory serves).

Funny how things change, amidst the one constant. We saw AT and Randy come and go. This year, Revis. If anything gives me hope, it seems Revis has bought in to an extent neither of the aforementioned splash additions have.

This is a special team, with a short window on the special price tag that accompanies many of these players. McCourtey is up this year, followed by solder (struggling this season), Chandler, Hightower, Collins...let's hope for the big one while the window is opening again.

**** you sports hub. The whiny weasel deserves no contract. You just lost another listener. Squeaky and Dbag were highest rated because of time slot. If any of your crack head management read here, you would understand that their major football draw has been negated by their incessant shtick. Put a Gresh and Zo on 2-6 with various Sox/Bruins talking heads and you go on a run similar to our patriots. Instead, blow up your best team and sprinkle in Felger light.

Again, **** you sports hub.

The new core of our defense (Collins, Chandler Jones, Hightower) were all drafted after that year.

Is there a player more indispensible to the Pats defense than Jamie Collins?

It's amazing how far he has come in just his second year.

Yeah, the days of being jealous of the 9ers LBs seem to be over. I think other fans are now jealously watching our two young LBs fly all over like Bowman and Willis have been doing for a few years.

I hate to say it, but Mayo being hurt these past 2 seasons has helped our young defensive players grow up VERY quickly.

Are Collins or HT as good as they are right now without being forced to take over the defense? Their potential is there but do they progress as far as they have currently?

Faulk was still playing against ravens, and Brady. But the other 40 players were seemingly asleep.

I wonder how different this is (half the players being different than three years ago) compared to other NFL teams - whether it be this year, over the last five years, ten years, playoff teams vs non-playoff teams, teams with same coaches vs teams with coaching changes, etc.

I'm guessing that while it is more than average, it's really not that far off the norm. While it seems that rosters remain stable because we see the most well known players remain relatively steady, there are always a few changes in the starting lineup (due to early round draft picks and losses due to age, injury and free agency).

That's just the top 22 players; for the other 31 there is going to be a much higher percentage of churning on any NFL team. While Bill Belichick probably does much more of it than most winning teams do in a constant search to improve the roster - see the lengthy 2014 New England Patriots Transaction Tracker - I would still venture to say that a 50% roster turnover in three years is not that unusual.
