Green started a total of seven games during which the Chargers went 5-2, and he was in the starting lineup for the team’s two best rushing performances of the year, a 207-yard effort against Kansas City in December and a 180-yard effort against Arizona in October.

Green is a converted defensive tackle who played both center and guard at Auburn. One of his teammates with the Tigers was Chargers left tackle Marcus McNeill. Green’s proudest moment from college was graduating with a degree in criminology.
His hobbies include singing, bowling, watching movies and playing cards.

Lol ^ Probably. Doesn't hurt to add depth at OL though. Plus, and let me know if I'm the only one here....but I always give an ounce more respect (whether it's deserved or not) to guys who played at the big SEC schools.

Sounds like a great replacement for Thomas.

He's a 4th round draft choice who started 28 games in the past 3 years. As I've said since we lost Thomas, we needed a veteran guard to replace Thomas or at least to compete with Cannon and McDonald.

I like it. A guy who stuck in the league for a few years and has some position flexibility. If his attitude is good, which seems to be the case as witnessed by his sticking in the league several years, then like Darryl says, I can see Dante turning this guy into a pretty decent OL-man.

I don't know much about him either, but it sounds like a depth move. San Diego's OL in 2012 was absolutely horrible.

Either that, or he's in the process of having his bust fit for Canton. That's usually the this forum, and most forums, work. He either sucks or he's a future Hall of Famer. There's usually very little in between, even though that's where the answer lies with any particular discussion the majority of the time.

Yup. A depth move and another body for TC. Hard to imagine anyone pushing Connolly or Mankins for starting time at this point.

The criminology experience will be helpful if we meet the Bengals in the playoffs. He's done guard and some center so he might have some of the 2 position flexibility BB and Dante want for backups. Let's see what Dante can do with the guy.

A JAG is nothing spectacular, just a guy doing his job, usually as a backup. For example, Deaderick and Cunningham likely qualify. The bottom dozen on our roster are usually JAGs.

A stiff, on the other hand, is a player who shouldn't have a job in the nfl, certainly not for the patriots.

I focused on the "at most" part of the comment I guess,

meaning if he's at most ordinary, then he's most likely a whole lot less

to me a whole lot less than ordinary is in the stiff catgegory
