For some reason I see Brady putting up an easy 40+ TD year, yes I'm assuming he plays all 16, well 19 but for the regular season.

I just don't see how we run the ball in with two monster tight ends, dola, and edelperson.

But really looking forward to what brady will do this year with so much talent on o.

I don't know what Brady is going to put up but I want Brady to score 6 TD's a game. At least 56 points a game. Hopefully 105 points on the Dolts.

School's out and the kids are bored at home.

'Yeah, cool!!! Why have a diversified offense? Let's never run the ball!!!! That'll be like that awesome video game!!!!!"

Pssstt.......Having two hulking excellent blocking "monster" TE's makes it more likely the running game could be used as a diversifying weapon in the offense this year.

Bills fans say Chandler is a horrible blocker. I remain on the fence about his blocking capability.

Watching the first Bills game I noticed them subbing out Chandler for Lee Smith. I didn't see enough blocking with Chandler to know how good he is at it. He totally owned us in the secondary though.

If Brady plays like last year minus the interceptions it's gonna be party all the time. This offense can get close if not surpass Denver's from 2013. I just think that, different from Manning, Brady and BB don't give a **** for records and are not going to expose the playbook without a need.

For some funny reason, this year I do care about records, smashing them all the way to a SB victory. Much like 07 where it was certainly "video game," like.

Gronk + Growler = Gronkler?

Send the off season Lombardi my way I want to hold it.

It will not be like '07 people. Moss+Brady was a special thing that we will not reproduce this year. Gronk + Brady is wonderful and special too, but not the same.

Unless something drastic happens, Pats will still be a 60-40 pass/run team in 2015.

How can you be so sure? The 2015 team (as of now) has the offensive talent to put up 35-40ppg pretty consistently. No question.

2011 Gronk came as close as you can come to 07 Moss. Last year they had the reigns on him for the first 4 games and sat him Week 17. If he played ~98% of the snaps he would have had similar 2011 numbers.

Now I do agree that 2015 TB12 is not the same as 07 TB12 but if Manning can put up 55 worthless TDs at 37, why can't a healthy 38 year old Brady put up 45-50 again- especially with Gronk, JE11, LaFell, Chandler, etc?

...and with all the BS with Deflategate, you better believe that there is going to be some significant score inflation going on.

something tells me that chandlers contributions are temporary and by the end of the season, derby is going to be used more than chandler

I think Chandler only has to be a halfway decent blocker... The threat of him as a receiver will hopefully make up for any blocking deficiencies. Sort of similar to Hernandez, who was an OK blocker but a great receiver. Chandler doesn't even have to be an amazing receiver so much as just a really tall guy who can block OK and run decent routes and catch good enough.

Was it possible for Moss, even

If only Moss could have somehow gotten himself under one of those last second passes, or, alternatively, Brady could have hit him.
Why do I torture myself this way after all these years???

I love Derby as well.

The knock on Derby is that he has had only one year as a full-time TE. Scouts have complained that his arms and hands are small for his size.

Below are Derby's combine #s. Nice agility for a big guy. Based on what I have read he has a high football IQ (fmr QB). He needs to get a little stronger but not sure getting more muscle on him would help him or hurt him.

40 Yrd Dash: 4.72
20 Yrd Dash: 2.72
10 Yrd Dash: 1.68
20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.51
3-Cone Drill: 6.99
Bench Press of 225: 15

Below are the combine #s from 2010 by a current All-Pro TE who went to Arizona and likes to party.

40 Yrd Dash: 4.68
20 Yrd Dash: 2.68
10 Yrd Dash: 1.58
20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.47
3-Cone Drill: 7.18
Bench Press: 23

As you say if over the next 6 months Derby can make it out of TC, get stronger, learn this offense and become a competent blocker (pass and run) he'll not only take snaps from Chandler but Hooman as well.

if you look at footage, he is certainly willing when it comes to run blocking, knows how to release and get to space to be a target in the passing game.....he's probably not the COD YAC guy that hernandez was, but he does other things better, and can get deep he's a bigger target radius than hernandez

.....and in the clips I have seen hes blocked fast guys, big guys inside and on the perimeter. He can do it. Just needs more practice and strength to do it consistently. He has nimble feet and good hands so that helps.

Hooman had almost 500 snaps and was in on 41% of the plays last year. That is way too many for him. With Chandler on the team, that will surely go down. If Derby can block anywhere close to Hooman in preseason or show progress pointing in that direction, Hooman may have a tough time making this team.
