?Yep. We're probably too close to it, and too afraid of being dismissed as rabid fanboys, to realize and articulate just what a remarkable run this has been. I'm not surprised that a guy mid-career would be willing to sacrifice something to run out his string here.
To be honest, I have a lot of doubts about the value, role and proper place of football in society, particularly in our educational system. I have a feeling that once this Pats' run is over, I might have to rethink my attitude toward the game. It is damaging to the players physically, and the old idea that "sports builds character" seems increasingly obtuse. Enjoy the rest of your career, Gronk. I will. Then we'll see.
Presumably in exchange for a 2nd round pick for each.Just imagine, we could have gone into this year with Brady and Gronk on other teams.

Actually it's not just about staying with the Pats, but also catching passes from only Tom Brady.
Big difference there.
This means that when Brady is done, Gronk is done as well.
