Who else can do these things?
That’s your opinion and I respect that, but it is a debatable subject. If you’re honestly looking at the history of the NFL, he’s neither tops in stats or tops in blocking, so how can he be considered the best at both? Why do you crack up when people say that the greatest TE to ever play the game was the greatest TE to ever play the game?
I ask because Gronk was, without question, the greatest TE to ever play the game.
No, I did not suspect you.No, that’s not my style. But since you asked me and may suspect it’s me, I’ll give you take on reporting other posters. I consider myself difficult to be offended by politically correct words and issues, but there are instances where it crosses a line.
I’ve reported someone who continued to use of the word “raped” to describe a football matchup, which I thought was beyond the pale, though I’m far from politically correct, and privately two people PM’d me to say they also felt very uncomfortable with that word used casually and in a context of victory. And I have reported someone for the totally unnecessary postings of swastikas and concentration camp images over and over again to make a point which was already made since Nazi and Faacist was already in the text he was writing...this was in a discussion about NFL team owners.
I don’t report people due to disagreements. I remember having a disagreement with you about Josh Gordon and addiction, but I definitely do not recall reporting or complaining about it to moderators.
The timeline and comments are certainly intriguing. Makes one wonder what's going on in the background. At 1:30 EDT, Mike Florio posted on PFT that “it may not be too late (for Patriots) to get Cooks” saying despite reports nothing is final between Cooks and Saints. At 6:35 pm, contributor, Darrin Gantt, reported again on PFT that nothing is final and “Saints need to hurry” to make it final.
This thread is rightfully about the best all-around TE in NFL history. But, I just wanted to interject that Cooks to NO is not a done deal. He might still choose NO as it’s a pretty good place to play, but the Patriots now have a TE #1 position and much more money to offer than they did before today.
Puke."Now I'm the undisputed best TE in the NFL!"
What TE dominated games the way Gronk did? Both as a receiver and blocker. First down and RZ target and deep threat. No TE ever had his skill set - and that is not even a close call.
Except he's not. I'd take several TEs before him. Kittle for starters."Now I'm the undisputed best TE in the NFL!"
All 2 catches and 20 yards in the biggest playoff game of his life."Now I'm the undisputed best TE in the NFL!"
I would compare him more like Shaquille O’Neal and that thet were so dominating that teams had to go dirty to stop them. It was beyond frustrating watching teams constantly diving at Gronk’s knees when he would catch a ball.Gronk is the Randy Moss of TEs in terms of being clearly the best talent to ever play, but he doesn't have the negatives that keep Moss at #2 behind Rice instead of #1 overall.
Kittle is definitely going to be in the conversation of one of the best TE’s next year. He’s extremely explosive for his size.Except he's not. I'd take several TEs before him. Kittle for starters.
Puke.
As Von Miller perfectly stated, “He’s a wannabe Gronk”.All 2 catches and 20 yards in the biggest playoff game of his life.
He's a front runner

That's not meaning to discredit his top 3 accomplishments. He was great. I just think that his career was cut 3-4 yrs too early to be considered the best TE to ever play in 100 yrs of football.
Good for him. He's a smart kid. Made a ton of money, saved most of it, and will live a great life going forward. That said, the Pats will not miss a beat. They won a couple Lombardis with him on the DL and win a couple more with him retired. This is bad news. Disappointed in him that it took so long to say as we could have made plans. But he has been a star and so good luck to him.

@supafly rated Witten over Gronk?C'mon, man.
You used a list that had Jason Whitten rated above Gronk. The moment you saw that, you should have known that list was garbage.
Agreed, except that most judge TEs based on stats and Witten has almost 2x the number of catches and a much longer career. Of course he wasn’t as dominant as a blocker.C'mon, man.
