I'd be willing to bet that he's been in communication with the team, and that they had a general sense of where he was. If he was trying to get his body ready and he just couldn't get there, then it's hard to fault him for that IMO.This is bad news. He could’ve been the greatest ever, had he played another several years. Unfortunately, he missed a lot of time and had to cut his career short due to those injuries.Who was better? There was no more complete TE to play the game. Others played at a lower level for longer, but that's pretty much the only argument to be made for anyone else.
