Yeah.

Apparently he really is as dumb as we thought, so hats off to him for trying hard to overcome it. I respect that more than I respect smarter people who don't use the brains they have.

(I went for a couple of years to Ohio State, so I'm entitled to say that if you can't make it at Ohio State, you have a rather dim bulb ...)

By the way -- Westerville is part of greater Columbus. He really did play in college right where he grew up.

They mention a super bowl ring and could have sworn somewhere I read..he sent it back or in some way said he didn't want it or??? Just curious...but somehow I remember something about that...

I was heartbroken about Katzenmoyer's injury shortened career. I remember the 99' draft like it was yesterday. I really wanted Woody and Katzenmoyer in the first round, we had two #1's and we wound up with both. Katzenmoyer was hyped to be an Urlacher type (before we knew of Urlacher) coming out of college, but had a poor junior season, so we got him at #28 overall. I thought he was gonna be a pro bowler, he had that much talent. I believe we wound up with Kevin Faulk in the 3rd round. I was thrilled with that draft, even though it really didn't work out like I hoped it would, though Woody and Faulk wound up being major contributors, and I'm still a HUGE Faulk fan (he's a huge reason why we are 3 time champions).

I think that Katzenmoyer would have been an all-pro playing for BB.
I thought he played well for us before being injured, but I thought his future was going to be as a dominant 34 OLB.
IMO, he was a lot like Vrabel, but much more athletic. On the other hand Vrabel was light years ahead in football intelligence.
I saw almost every game Katz played as a Buckeye, and he had every skill you would need to play that 34 OLB spot.
I expected the next Willie McGinest, but with more speed and quickness.

I wish him the best. He took a lot of undeserved crap IMO. Life is more important than football when you're talking possible paralysis.

Yeah.

My in-laws live in Westerville....I might have to go catch a game next time we go for a visit.

I'm always stunned when I go there. The Buckeyes are as popular there as the Red Sox, Patriots, Legal Sea Foods, The Kennedys and the Pope combined are in Boston.
