In the end, it wasn’t about revenge. It was about not giving up, about perseverance, about not panicking, about having a backup plan if the original plan isn’t working, about believing in yourself and your ability and in one another.

It's true. I wasn't thinking about Goodell at all when it became clear something was happening. It just got so much bigger than that.

So many of us had assumed that Tom Brady wanted to win this game so he could rub it in Goodell’s face. But it turns out he really wanted to win the game to put a smile on his mother’s face.

There’s something much stronger, sweeter, and more satisfying than revenge. It’s called love.

Loved this bit.

The Falcons owner, Arthur Blank, left his comfortable box and went down to the field long before the game ended, wanting to be among his players celebrating a victory that seemed inevitable. As the Patriots kept scoring, the camera kept drifting back to Blank and his wife standing there on the sidelines, a growing sense of dread spreading on their faces. The final camera shot gave new meaning to the term Blank stare.

The Blank stare...I'll always think about his face when somebody says that in non-football conversations.

And there seemed to be genuine love and friendship and respect throughout this team for each other. Listening to them throughout the season, it was obvious this was not the 2009 team. Hearing BB after the Broncos game, it was clear he felt likewise. Brady compared White to his own first son shows you just how close-knit this group was. He was literally comparing him to flesh and blood family. Thinking about Marty at the start of the year, hitching rides with new teammates, or talking about hanging with the defensive guys, which he never did at other stops.

Everybody bought in, everyone was on board, and it's the only way a team can overcome what they did on Sunday.

This team is so ridiculously consistently great for so long our main rival from a fans perspective isn't even a team anymore it's the NFL front office. I was just thinking about how insane that really is today.
