danny's looking sharp:

New England Patriots’ Danny Amendola Killed It at the 2017 ESPY Awards

also looking to make up for his pay cut. i'm sure being buddies with tom brady and dating olivia culpo helps get his foot in the door:

As of this week Amendola became Ford Models’ first-ever NFL athlete on its roster; a feat made possible by the wide receiver’s mix of attractiveness, personal style, work ethic, and fashion-friendly physique (“I was completely wrong about his sizes. He’s like, model sizes”, Thomas mentioned while fitting him in the slim-cut suit). The legendary agency will help Amendola land modeling gigs with publications like GQ, as well as advertisements and endorsement deals, and generally ensure he becomes a full-fledged celebrity beyond the sport of football. “I’m a football player first and foremost, but fashion is something that I'm also interested in exploring right now," he admits. "I’m really grateful to Ford for giving me that opportunity.”

I don't like the no socks look (I noticed JE was sporting the same look). Otherwise, agreed!

olivia culpo is beautiful...but i don't like her look here:

I saw very little of the Espys. Did see the Cubs skit with Bill Murray. Boy, that bit was way beyond silly and went all the way to weird. Also, Bill Murray looked seriously old or possibly sick. Saw the Pats get the award for the best game of the year. I was actually surprised they got it. Peyton's skit on watching the Super Bowl really wasn't very funny, IMHO. It was probably the way he thought while watching the game anyway.

I love the no socks look. Penny loafers and no socks was all the rage in the 60's and seventies, just prior to the sandels revolution.

Except for the fuscos. They had greasy drills in their hair and wore what were then called 'Puerto Rican fence climber's for shoes. I think we had about a dozen of them in my hometown back in the 60's.

I'm with @PatsDeb on the no socks look, I don't care much for it. I just didn't want to hit the X on your post. No socks with shoes is uncomfortable to me when I get forced into it for some reason.

Why would you bother? The ESPYS are farcical and in terms of accolade, irrelevant.

I ask those of you who say no socks to look again at this photo and tell me that this does not look goofy. Maybe if the pants weren't a little "high water" it would look okay. And I like the ladies' outfit - very elegant.

The higher cut/almost flood looking pants without socks for all dress shoes has been in style for several years, now. It's simply part of the slimmer, more athletic cut suit look. They make those little dress socks that stop at the ankles if you want to pull off the look without getting blisters and swamp foot.

Personally, I don't mind the no sock look and I wear it with some other shoes, but those damn pants just look kind of silly to me.

Edit: just saw your post ahead of me, Deb. Great minds think alike.

That suit style looks tight and uncomfortable, and I can't imagine how those shoes feel without socks. That's the downside. The upside is he gets to take it all off with her.
