Gordon v. Cooks

Have to like the progress. Once he fully trusts his hamstring and really put his speed to the test, this offense will go Get better. Then add in Gronkowski healing up too and with our hurry up our offense should be at a whole new level.

As for who is better. I think we covered that in numerous other threads, which in summary is; Cooks is good and is statistically consistent, but Gordon Has more potential and can do more for our team plus his hands are top tier.

Big Cooks fan here - was thrilled when they signed hm, sad, but accepting, when they let him go.

Having said that, if Gordon continues to stay clean and with the program, he'll do more on a team that already has Edelman, Hogan, and Dorsett than Cooks could do, and I might be wrong with this, but it seems like Brady has more trust in Gordon already than he had with Cooks at the end.

Different systems favor different players.

Oh, and Cooks cap hits are 5.4, 15.2, and 16.8m guaranteed for this and the next two years, then 16.8, 17.8, and 17.4 for the next three.

Gordon is 700k and is an RFA next year - and I doubt anyone's going to bite on that tender until he has at least two years clean under his belt.

Even after that, he will be limited in any future contract because of his off-field issues. I'd like to see him here for another 4-5 years, and that wouldn't have been possible with Cooks (and no, I don't think Cooks is worth 16+ per).

Gordon is a better fit because he's a bigger receiver and has unreal hands. Cooks is a tiny dude and his catch radius isn't very big. I love Cooks and his comeback routes are better than Gordon's by a mile, but Gordon can do more in this offense than Cooks at the moment.

If Gordon had a full training camp with us he'd probably out-perform Cooks at this point. Cooks is still an elite WR, but I'm glad BB traded for Gordon.

Probably?

Projecting Gordon's 6 games with the Pats out to 16
61.3 recs for 1056 yards 18.0/rec 5.3 TDs

Cooks 2017
65 recs for 1082 yards 16.6/rec 7 TDs

Gordon is already matching Cooks' production. And that is with having several games where he was significantly limited with his hamstring.

As well as having no training camp or pre season practice with Tom

Yikes it seems like Cooks took a lot less upfront $7Mill SB: Steep cap hits after this year for a Good but not Great WR because of his height limitations. Cooks ain't winning a lot of jump balls. In Todays NFL don't think he see's the rest of that contract Rams might pay in the dead money department though.

Seems to me cook is way waster, Gordon may as well be as fast as Rob. Gordon advantage is his height and is just a huge Body which makes him an attractive target.
