Gilmore traded to Carolina

Rams, Chiefs, Cards, Bucs, and Packers should be all over this.

God I hope he ends up in KC.

If he’s close to his top level, he would improve the Chiefs more than any other team. It would be a huge deal. Risky, though…at his age and not seeing him on the field for some time, not sure if he’s still great. If I were the Chiefs, I’d take that risk.

To be clear, that is an assumption on my part. I haven't heard anything solid on it, but I can't imagine they'd release him if he was going to suit up week 7 and finish out the year.

i kind of suspect that too, the only thing that really makes sense tbh. Or he asked to be traded /cut when they wouldn’t pony up

Gilmore to KC, GB, or Tampa are his best bets if he wants to compete. He also might do what Ty Law did and chase the highest dollars.

This year we'd do it all over again if we could, but he got more money and more years elsewhere.

Feel free to read all the OL threads on this forum for more insight.

That's what we were doing, but we ran out of cap space so something has to go, and it's him.
Miguel says we have $8 mill in cap space. If Bill plans on spending much more than the veteran minimum on Collins then he needs to be put out to pasture.

Oh for sure.

Gilmore would dramatically improve the back end.

I worry we may not have the funds to get him.

And they wanted to do it again but Thuney decided to leave
They could have franchised him again if they wanted to or did that get removed from the last CBA?

No I don't.
But to say he is garbage when he had 3 days of practice in a new system is nonsense.

He was bad, but he did what was needed by not allowing any deep plays. And based on his positioning, it seems he was willing to concede anything as long as it was in front of him. Not sure what team wouldn’t take Richard Sherman as a depth CB who can fill in for injuries but isn’t asked to be a #1 CB. Bucs got a great deal. Would teams rather have practice squad players and special teamers like Justin Bethel as their CB5/6?

Well, yes, after cutting Gilmore we do.

Nice of you to judge a move before it happens.

Maybe someday you'll get over the butthurt.

The Bucs won. The Bucs bad defense just held the vaunted Pats oc to 17 total points and a negative-run-yardage game, which is historically great as only the 2021 mcD Pats and the worst Detroit Lions teams in history have accomplished this feat in the last 50 years of NFL games.

I believe theres a way to use this new cap space to pay off future bonuses or something like that… so it can be used to free up money for next year too. I could be explaining it way wrong but I remember reading in years past when we had leftover cap space it could ‘roll over’ in a way

Sounds like he wants to get paid. Id expect him to go to the team that pays him the most.

I doubt pats release him if he would play after PUP. This was basically a hold out

I would have let him rot on the PUP if thats the case. Let him walk at the end of the year and get a comp pick.
I'd rather have the cap room, no guarantee we even get a comp pick.

This is obviously a ruse since he intends to re-sign him after nobody offers him what he wants.
Chess vs checkers

You bragged about how many tackles he made.
Not saying he won't be serviceable going forward but he was crap that game.
And the number of tackles were a direct response to the Pats going after him, not a product of him playing great as you seem to imply.

I agree. I thought Sherm was solid in that game. He also recovered the Taylor fumble.

He didn't allow deep plays?
With that Offensive Line play, nobody allows deep plays to the pats right now.

Ok so it's been established you can't read. Moving on.

Starting to think you have a vendetta against Josh McDaniels
