Giardi: Patriots Players are Miserable

The entire football watching world outside of Patriot Nation hate the Patriots for their winning ways... ignore the noise.

There was one former hockey player who once said about the great Scotty Bowman, “We hated his guts 364 days of the year. On the 365th day we collected our stanley cup ring.”

Why do they need to talk to the public about internal problems? You think it's great if for example you and your wife have some issues and your wife goes to Twitter / Facebook to talk to a grand audience about it?

Brady is not a millenial and Gronk's been on the Patriots since 2010.

It's a free country, brotha. This also is hardly the first time a high profile Patriots has aired out grievances with the front office and team publicly. Mankins did it and the Patriots still signed him to a hefty deal. If Belichick doesn't like it, he can feel free to cut/trade either or both of them.

he's not free to cut or trade brady.....the krafts made it perfectly clear

I'd bet BB is pretty pissed about that, too

Was that ever proven? Hard to believe he'd be sticking around much longer (if at all) if that was actually the case.

"Fer Chrissakes, I am TFB. Why don't you ease up on me? I know what to do. STFU already."

That can't possibly be right! It's almost exactly what Seth WickerSHAM said in that BSPN piece that was roundly torched here as total nonsense.

"I think [he] has earned the right to have that be a decision he makes when he wants to make it,"

Jonathan Kraft on Brady

that's what it sounds like to me......you can argue it semantically, but I believe the Krafts have Brady's back

You mean the same Seth Wickersham who claimed Belichick was using a big screen outside of Gillette to illegally challenge replays? You know, the one that can’t be seen from the stadium sidelines?

I’ll grant you that there is turmoil within the franchise but Wickersham didn’t support any of his hit pieces with anything, and he has no credibility whatsoever.

If they're unhappy, why shouldn't they be allowed to talk about it?
Because, at least in my opinion, it seems unprofessional. They're obviously allowed to talk about, but for guys who seemingly take enormous pride in being professional, this strikes me as anything but.

Except it actually appears to be happening, despite the “laugh it off” attitude of many of our fans, and a good portion of it seems to be stemming from the Alex Guerrero situation.

Unless you missed how the end of Tom’s documentary ended, Gronk’s tweets about being happy and free, the fact that we don’t even know if he’ll be playing or not, Bob Kraft’s comments, and the countless media reports?

I’m not saying that it’s as bad as they’re making it out to be, but you’d have to have your head buried in the sand if you don’t think that something is going on. I don’t think that Belichick changed his MO, but his controlling nature (which is to be expected to some degree) about Guerrero’s role does seem to be very troublesome in terms of how it is affecting our star players—who already feel that they are taking hometown discounts at the moment.
I think your right, something is going on internally and has been since at least the jimmy g trade. I didn't give any credence to the bspn story about tension between kraft, brady, and bb last fall, but since the trade we've seen or heard.

Gronk angry that he was told not to use guerraro as his personal trainer.

M. Butler not play a down in the supre bowl.

Many on the team backing butler assertion that he didn't do anything wrong including brady.

Gronk saying he was thinking about retiring at 28 yrs old, we're still not sure if hes going to play or not.

Players like Soldier jumping ship even though they were offered equal money to stay.

I think this goes all the way back to last years draft whenit was reported that sevral teams had offered more than a nd rounder for jimmy g. The front office would be neglagent if it didn't know that garappalo didn't want to sit behind brady even with being paid starter money.

Somethings different than in past years, theres just to much smoke to think theres not a fire of some kind. Theres never been anything close to whats going on in the past.

Everyone thinks it's fine and dandy lol. I think there's a mutual respect between brady and bill and that's pretty much it.

1) Solder said somewhat equal. Not equal.
2) Players? Of which other player do we know that he left despite the Patriots offering somewhat equal money?

Like Ivory soap I am 99.9 percent sure that 99.9 percent of the BS you have heard and are repeating is BS.
So Brady is upset at BB for leading the team to 2 super bowls? The poor baby.
So Gronk is sad because he finally got to play a whole season without injury. Aww shucks
Does any of this sound plausible. Or is it just like this.
Brady under suspension for the beginning of the season, fighting the NFL the ENTIRE year before. His mom being sick and receiving treatments. Hmm, maybe that might make him unhappy?

Or Gronk, well who the fuk knows what Gronk thinks. But his back wouldn't last in the WWE.

All the stories are someone 'reading between the lines', they are assumptions based on previous reports from writers who make crap up.

The one and only fact that may be true is Guerraro was no longer allowed the same access that an actual Patriot trainer has and had to work in a separate area. The rest in conjecture by writers who need clicks.

The more I think about it the situation might be akin to having a really tough, demanding boss. I'm sure we have either seen or experienced it ourselves. You may love your job, are paid well and love your company but your boss is sucking the life out of you. Perhaps with Tom and Gronk, because their legacies are secure and are financially secure they might be a little less welcoming to BBs demanding work environment now.

I'm not taking their apparent weariness of BB as a lack of desire to play hard and win.
Yeah, if that's the case then they need to grow up a bit and realize it's largely because of their overly demanding boss that they're now in such a privileged position. Either continue accepting that as the price of sustained excellence, or go elsewhere.

You know tune it has been said that a head coach has a self life, that after so many years the players tune them out (no pun intended) but BB has managed to avoid this by constantly turning over the roster. He maintains a small core of key players but even some of those peel off from year to year. So could it be a Possibility that BB is starting to lose TB and gronk?

Gronk certainly seems to fit that description, with Brady I think it’s more complex, as by all accounts Brady is every bit as much of a hard ass as Belichick is both in practice and in games. I get that Belichick wears on these guys but it’s also that demand for excellence that leads to their championships. And if Brady, in particular, is so sick of it then he really should have told the Kraft’s and Belichick that last offseason so they could trade him and turn the team over to Garrapolo.

As far as Gronk goes they need to sit down with him and get to the bottom of what is going on with him, and whether it is done that by that can be resolved, or whether they should trade him. I hate the idea of trading Gronk but if he isn’t going to buy in and given them 100% then they should explore a trade. I wouldn’t actually pull the trigger on it for less than a top 15 pick, but I would probably do it for that price to a team like SF. If no team they want to deal with will do that then tell him they tried and the next move is his. If he retires then that’s the way it goes.

No, I think it would be more a matter of Brady and Gronk losing BB. BB shouldn't concern himself with adjusting his successfully proven, team-oriented style of doing things to accommodate individual players.

Concerning brady, i noticed that lately there have been stories about TB considering retiring, i haven't read them so i don't know the source or the possible validity. But as you say TB should have said sometning, last year he was still playing till he was 45, now it seems like hes starting to think about the possibilty of leaving. I think BB could win a SB with a top qb, its been done before, and i think he would look at it as a challange.
