Yup thats the exact thought I had watching it too, they really didn't want to over commit to anything, just survive.

Opening drive, Heath Evans was showing improved blocking.
Mills still needs work on his vision as a lead blocker and his blocking - maybe Ochmed can comment...
The Pats' Offensive starters, with Cassel, Childress, and Stone ate up the Giants defensive starters.
The Pats' Defensive starters, with Wright for Warren, and Seau/Vrabel inside, TBC/Colvin outside did just fine against the run, they got eaten up underneath in the passing game - longest run was against the nickel D.
Asante blew coverage on Amani Toomer for a 1st down, made up for it later.
The first pass play, no one accounted for Shockey coming clean underneath on a crossing pattern for 14 yds.
Harrison looks good, as do Geno, Hawkins, and Sanders.

Wright is improving each game.
Luzar was showing some decent blocking, nice add to the shadow roster.
I hope no one claims Bam off waivers...
