Once again I think the Patriots will have to use free agency primarily to build up the defensive depth, and possibly the interior OL, There won't be any tackles or wide receivers available, and I wouldn't take George Pickens for free. He's the last person I would let in that locker room. And then they can address the offense in the draft. There isn't a JaMarr Chase in this draft, but there are plenty of WR's who could bolster their receiving corps, and they can definitely get interior OL on day 2. It's also a very good draft for Edge rushers, and I could definitely see them going edge in the first round, although picking at 32 will make that a bit tougher.

I was never interested in Hunter, not even remotely. So glad he didn't end up with us.
Carter on the other hand, I'm sure he would've been the pick if he made it to 4.
I was all in with Campbell. Hunter was too good to be true and after watching Carter be interviewed I saw a man that was so far up his own backside that I would not want him on my team thank you very much. So pleased Campbell has proved the doubters wrong.

What?? wasn't he put down for the year?? Shootout.... shootout I tell ya.
“put down”…. Kristi Noem sees that and starts itching to take him out back to the gravel pit…

I think Disney/Hulu would have given you access too.

I blame cord cutting. 10-15 years ago someone figured out they could save a little cutting the cord and the cooperate greed realized how much more they could rip us off via a la cart and moved all the content there and started hiking prices.

Even though I know I'm wasting money and there isn't really much added content I still subscribe to cable because it's just a better user experience most of the time. But then I still need a couple of the streams for Star Wars, Stand up comedy, and the NFL package. A little under 350 a month it's out of control.

There are ways to stream the NFL without paying for their package or breaking the law. . I an using a company called Tazztv.io. I paid $100 for the year and get full access to all the games PLUS a ton of other stuff if I wanted.

Cord cutting isn't what led to the corporate greed. Corporate greed is what led to the Cord Cutting.

I think they'd rather spend their money in free agency.
I wouldn't be surprised if they extended Gonzalez instead of picking up the 5th year option. I hope that Kayshon Boutte also gets an extension.

They need to get Douglas some Tai Chi lessons so he runs with more balance. I didn't notice it before this year, but he runs with so much chaos that he causes himself to lose his balance almost every time he has a run with the ball over 10 yards.

Very very true. Probably should be described as a short term run around like cord cutting just opened up opportunities for even more greed and that run around wound up costing everyone more.

I think they'll extend Gonzalez but take the fifth year option numbers into account. But I'm not sure of how that all works.

And right now Campbell is playing like an All Pro left tackle. The Patriots have LT taken care of for the next 10 years. Great pick!
It will be interesting to see if they add an OT in the 1st 3 rounds of the draft. Someone to push Moses and challenge Bryant for the Swing tackle position.

IMO, The Pats currently have Edge, LB, and OG as their top 3 positions of need.

Yeah, it'd be nice to know what the team really thinks of Bryant, but I suspect we won't know until next offseason by their actions in regard to OT.

Absolutely. When this season ends the Pats will 100% exercise the 5th year option on Gonzalez, negotiations on an extension will go from there. The Pats FO would be laughably incompetent to deprive themselves of the leverage the 5th year gives them in the coming negotiations with Gonzalez.

The only problem is that every year you wait a new top end deal is reached and you have to to that next level. I think they would be wiser to get a far market deal with him done as soon as possible, especially with players loving playing for Vrabel the way they do right now.

The particular 'year' they would be waiting is, in this instance, a few months away. Some concern with his durability is not out of bounds, Gonzalez needs to stay on the field and finish this season upright. Even with the team holding the 5th year leverage it's possible Gonzalez is going to set the market or come damn close. Without it, he definitely sets CB the market. Of course the caveat in any current negotiations that may be going on is the option is waiting to be exercised and both sides know it.

I think they will want to get it done sooner than later, but we'll see what happens?
