All that being said, I do think LoMo may have a big game this week. He has a history of breaking out just when he is backed in a corner and when the entire Pats Nation is fed up with him.

He DOES? Could you cite some examples? It's going to be tough for Maroney to have a 'breakout' game against Denver in Denver. That defense looks for real this year. I'd be satisfied if he could break 3ypc and get about 60+ yards and move the chains. Put it this way, it's hella hard to get worse than 6 yards on 7 carries and a sub 1.0 ypc. Only way to go is up from here.

I think more than anything, I look forward to the day the Maroney factor is no longer a factor.

Either he consistently runs like a madman and starts to be the dominant presence, or he relegates to consistent JAG behavior and the rank and file of that. Either one will finally settle the endless Maroney debate.

In the meantime, someone mentioned him finishing in the top 5 of all Patriots. Interestingly, he has already surpassed Mack Herron.

I just don't for the life of me understand where all this Maroney hate is coming from.

We are four games into a season and this started before preseason.

He was great in 2006 when behind Dillon.

Corey started 13 games and played all 16 for 812 yds and 4.1 ypc
Maroney started no games but played 14 and had 745 yds at 4.3 ypc
He wasn't called on much in the postseason that year.
Then in 2007 he plays 13 games and starts in 6 to amass 835 yds at 4.5 ypc
And goes on to the postseason to have 280 yds for 4.6 ypc.

2008 was a bust for him due to injury, which brings us to where we are now. I mean wtf has the guy done wrong?
