Fundamental draft logic analysis flaw

Really? So the media was wrong on Heyward Bay and Mitchell, just to point to to obvious Raider reaches?

You are going to respond to an entire theory by naming 2 players?
Classic you.

well that's no entirely true as it's not "the media" against professional bill. There are many scouting services and many use not just "mediots" but pro scouts or ex pro scouts. Plus his own division didn't even have him as all big 10.

His coach put in a good word for him. Great, a second round pick needs more than "a good word" or "a good attitude".

Anyway, what BB is saying is that not only is this guy worth a 2nd round pick but given that he knows he's a consensus 6th rounder, he can't take a chance on missing him. He can't take a chance that another team won't "steal" him away. And other teams also know he's a consensus 6th rounder, so why would they steal such a guy knowing or thinking they know they could also pick him up later.

Given there are many players in the 2nd round with great talent, assumedly roughtly almost equal to Wilson's, it's a very bold statement that BB felt he couldn't take a chance on missing this guy, rather than ddrafting an almost equal and then taking a chance on picking up wilson later.

I hope he works out.

Re: Fundamental draft logic flaw

Ian Rapoport had a line earlier about how it's like buying a house: its worth is whatever someone is willing to pay.

And the pundit "rankings" are like home appraisals - rarely accurate.

You're especially right in this case cause the Pats had another pick 13 spots later and obviously felt Wilson could be gone by then. Note that SD picked 49 and chose a safety, and somewhere today I read that the Chargers had met with Wilson.

You've got a guy here who was a decent Big-10 safety for 3 seasons, then volunteered to play CB his senior year because the team needed him to do it. He's 6' 205, sub 4.5, and intangibles off the chart. Not some flunkie.
