Fred Taylor makes a locker room appearance

If we had Taylor and Morris we could have run the ball on 3rd down on that last drive in Indy. Don't put words in my mouth, I never said it was on Maroney

By pointing to Morris and Taylor you're putting it on Maroney. As for that 3rd down, they could have run it with Maroney. He'd run for short yardage 3rd downs already in the game.

It's blatantly obvious they didn't trust Maroney to get it, and they shouldn't. If he had Taylor and Morris I'm pretty sure it would have been considered. Actually more than likely they would have run it. They couldn't take a chance on the prancing pony.

you can say what you want about maroney but he is the best on this team

taylor is not the same back he was he is old it will be good to get him back but it's not like he was just lighting it up he had 200 yerd's in 4 game and a 105 of them came vs one of the worst D's in the NFL in the falcons

Sammy Morris in 6 game's had 109 yerd's rushing

when they got hurt i dont think the runing game got worst and i dont think it will get that much better when they come back

And your ridiculous bias shows itself in a post that makes no sense. They'd given him short yardage plays earlier in the game. But you keep ignoring that, just as you pretend that it's not about needlessly bashing Maroney for you.

so along those same lines. If they DID run it and failed, would that have been "blatantly obvious that they didn't trust" Brady?

Oh so you didn't notice Maroney visibly running different after half time? And Moss doesnt take plays off either? Stop trolling and actually add something useful

No he doesn't actually. Taking plays off and not running at 100% of your max speed on every single snap is 2 different things btw

that is absolutely the same thing

Bias? Bias of what?

They gave it to him when we had the lead. The moron fumbles it at the 1 and that was it for him. 3 and 2 and you don't rush it? hmm.. could it be that Maroney was our only "power" back?

Needlessly bashing? What a joke. He wont be back next season and I'm stoked about that.

Ummmm no.

He has a way of lulling defenders to sleep in a way. Then WAM, full speed. PLUS, he just LOOKS like he runs slow. Even when he is obviously outrunning guys chasing him down he looks like he is just jogging along.

No **** sherlock. A flee flicker will obviously have him jogging then WAM. Moss has taken plays off when its not to him, just like many WR's. To say not Pats player takes plays off is absolutely ridiculous

Yeah, I mean, it's not like Bill went to him last week against the Jets and Maroney got 2 red zone touchdowns and 4 first downs.

And the fumble is negated by the fact that Welker returned the Colts punt down to about the 5 I believe and the Patriots still scored.

IMO Taylor IS our best back despite his age. His ball carrying vision and experience more than makes up for it. While Maroney is running hard as of late he is still hesitating a bit, his vision isn't quite as polished yet, he can't see the holes develop quite as fast hence resulting in him "dancing" in the backfield. and i agree 100% that IF fred was playing in the Indy game we would've at least ran the ball to convert on 3rd down+ taylor has always had HUGE games against Indy as a jaguar.

Then every single receiver to ever play the game consistently took plays off.

Exactly, Some ppl need to stop listening to the mediots and actually think about the receiver position and how one would conserve energy throughout the course of a 60 min football game.

"Moss takes plays off" sounds great when it rolls off your tongue but the guys an excellent receiver and even with great talent the success he's enjoyed doesn't come without some hard work....period.

Sorry not trying to derail the thread, I would love to get fred taylor back he is instinctive and very savvy of course he isn't fred taylor from 2000 or even 2003 when he was an absolute beast. But still a nice addition to the committee.

Im not a maroney hater like I've said before more of an objective fan and I understand both sides of the argument. But I have to say the Maroney haters really have no leg to stand on at this point. He clearly has improved by being more decisive and looks like he's really enjoying the game and punishing some people as well(ask kerry) All you guys really have left is that he was a 1st rounder that hasn't lived up to that billing but to me being a 1st rounder just says you had a nice college career and will have a bigger bonus other than that its the same uphill battle for everyone proving that they are a commodity to be valued moving forward.
Maroney IS running hard! I thought that was what all the hoopla was about. Now that he's running with authority you guys are hanging on to your bull**** knee jerk reactions for every bad play the offense has when he's on the field.

It's like you want him to fail. I thought this was patsfans.com?

That's your mistake. This is a similar site, but it's a bit different:

I absolutely am because he has been a bust as a 1st round pick. He's fragile, doesnt run north/south, cant hold onto the ball. He doesnt "get it" and he will never "get it". But you're an apologist for him and he's the best in the league
