Game 2 was ours, and Francona left Beckett in there way too long. He should have yanked him after 5 runs. Beckett clearly was not pitching well that night. You have a chance to go up 2-0 heading into Fenway....

anyway, i hope the phillies win. i hope this is another repeat of the 06' world series when the national league team upset the AL team.

He should have ordered a purpose pitch or 2 at Upton early in the series. Not at the head, that's borderline criminal IMO; but any other part of the body is fair game and can have the desired effect. Upton was way too comfortable in the batter's box.

Seriously. The Red Sox weren't going to have "Playing for a $100 mil contract, I hustle, I actually try to hit and field, Dodgers Manny". We would have had some miserable prick who would have been mailing it in since July. With Manny, they might not even win the Wild Card spot. All things considered, the Sox did pretty damn good with the injuries they had and the Manny situation. Tampa Bay was simply the better team and it's no fluke they pretty much led the AL East most of the season.

I'm sick of people complaining about the manager.. Obviously he was putting some faith in the best post season pitcher of this decade in Game 2.. The Sox lost this series because Tampa was a better team.. Drew wasn't the hitter in Game 7 that he was in games 5 and 6.. I thought he'd have a good game last night, but NO ONE did.. Varitek was, well, Varitek.. They had their chances and didn't get it done.. Give Garza credit- they got 3 freaking hits.. You gonna blame Francona for that??

and they get within 2 runs of the World Series.

The bats let this team down last night.I thought it was big to try and get a solid lead but it never happened.Garza pitched well and we couldnt hit the guy.
