man that was just a teaser....i need more ! loved listening to scar et al . i must be getting soft in my old age cuz i got a little chokey with the community involvement stuff. i'll bet those kids had fun.

I hope you're right. But Barmore, White, Peppers, Dugger, Landry, Marcus Jones -- all question marks, if you want to write a sky-is-falling story.
The writer doesn't know any of those players are on the team.

As expected second episode as good as the first. Really like how Moses has become a leader among the offensive linemen...
Then there is Vrabel, he seems to be more of a throwback coach who is very involved in practices more so than we are used to seeing..
TC is about 4 days away.. cannot wait.

That beginning clip I don't think had anything to do with limiting Maye's running. He ran for the first down according to Vrabel and Maye knew he had the first but continued to keep his head up for something more downfield. He did that last year whenever he rolled right or left. He was just saying what a great job he did not just taking the run for the first.
I don't think they'll limit his running AT ALL. That would be counterproductive. I'd say zero chance on that. Which is different than him keeping his head up on scrambles sometimes.
I disagree. I thought the opening clip was specifically highlighting the effort to rein in Maye’s inclination to run. Vrabes repeatedly pointed it out, obviously making it a point of emphasis.

Vrabes also said “good job remaining a passer.” Seems like he was praising Maye for continuing to the sideline while looking to pass, instead of turning upfield and putting his head down as a runner.

I think the coaches have identified his tendency to play hero ball as a deficiency that they are trying to correct by teaching him to play within the system, and that means breaking him of his desire to become a runner. I certainly hope so, anyway.

This episode to me was about the offense and those coaches. Can't wait to see the defensive minded episode.
And thats fine if that was the design. I wouldn't say all about the offense, but rather just the oline and coaches. But again, that was 50% of the episode. The rest was Kraft propaganda.
I think you’re overly triggered by Kraft. I didn’t see that anywhere near as much as you suggest.

I agree that this was about the coaches and the offense, specifically the OL. I wonder if the absence of the DC influenced the balance at all.

I really liked that the focus on the offense was the OL not the skill players. I’d like to think it was a philosophical design decision in the script, but pragmatically I suspect it was because there is a logjam at WR, there’s too many to give them all screen time and they can’t single out anybody in particular yet.

Effectively it still worked out well. They focused on arguably the least glamorous FA signing of the year, gave Moses a lot of time on camera to good effect, gave Big Mike a good cameo, neither slighted nor fluffed any of the rookies, and pretty much ignored the rest of the players on the OL. And complemented it all with a lot of time with the new OL coaches.

It seemed to me that was 50% or more of the content. Then there was a little about other aspects of the team, STs, coaching staff in general, the puffery about community involvement, cameos by alumni like Mankins, Tippett, Scar, Squirrel. That’s why I really didn’t see anything much about Kraft specifically. I give a pass on the clip about buying the team to bring a championship here, because that was Scar in his historical recap and Scar has earned the right to say whatever he wants without second guessing as far as I’m concerned.

I’ll be interested to see how the next segment shapes up. I’d like to see a focus on defense to balance this, but I think we need a DC ready to appear in it for that to work. Let’s see how it goes. Maybe they’ll just wait until they can fill a full segment with material from training camp so they don’t have to go near the missing DC issue.

And Williams. He’s a big question mark. He was a reach, we could’ve gotten him one or two rounds later… (jk)

What a bozo!

His whole schtick is that the WR room is in a shambles because Diggs will be on PUP to start the season.

And he even got two columns out of that erroneous report by Chad Graff:

Patriots Must Add WR After Rough Injury Update

Meanwhile, Diggs apparently is good to go and will not be on PUP at all. Hope this guy chokes trying to eat all the crow he deserves.

What really stood out to me was just how ready Vrabel is for this job. Since retiring, and probably long before it, he appears to have learned pretty much everything it takes to run a pro football team properly. He has that entire coaching staff on the same page, they are coaching units and individual players non stop, and it looks like everyone is buying into his approach and attitude. I love the fact that he has so many coaches working with the players. Dante is right, he’s going to do a great job of running this team.

Except Maye never played hero ball running left or right last year. I just watched every run on all-22 and almost 100% of the time when he could remain a passer, he did. I doubt the coaching staff failed to watch the tape from last year. He had some hero ball, all on passes. He bailed from the pocket, occasionally too early, to run up the middle, with great success in terms of yards gained but with better protection and comfort he can hang in a bit longer and save some hits. But that's all different than teaching him to keep his head up on a scramble which he was great at last year.

The entire quote from Vrabel

"Good job remaining a thrower. That’s it, it’s a first down. They got, they read the zone, first down though, good job remaining a passer."

Yes, of course, he was praising him for keeping his head up and not just becoming a runner. What else would he comment on?

just like Maye did all of last year whenever he ran left or right. It's not something he needs to learn.

Maye had little hero ball that were not passes last year. He was at the top of epa per rush, averaged 9 yards per carry. He's going to run the same way Josh Allen runs.

True! Think about that extended scramble against the Titans at the end of regulation that ended with the touchdown to Stevenson. He was running to be able to pass all of that time. Wonderful play!

Does this guy have a source? He doesn’t mention one. Was he at OTA’s and mini camp?

His “source” was Chad Graff’s breaking news story that claimed Diggs would start out on PUP.

From that he fabricated two stories: one that the Pats had to sign another WR, plus this one that they’re a disaster without Diggs.

He cites Graff’s story as his source in the first of those two. He cites himself, as his first story, as the source for his second story.

He is a clueless bozo.

Oh, goodness gracious! That's supposed to be the problem?

If you want to send us into panic, talk about the defense ...

I just finished his latest article, All Pro tackle to sign with the Patriots, but I’m not buying it, Anthony Munoz is too old to be a serious contributor to this years Patriots.
