Yeah. It makes you think that, practically speaking, it's impossible to pay a guy like Belichick what he's really worth in salary; if Lovie is worth $6, then what is Bill really worth...$12?...$18?. It's why he'd get shares of his company's stock if he were in industry.

Its why owners like Al Davis who does not know when to keep an upcoming decent head coach like Tom Cable who had taken his team up to an 8-8 record and owners like Virginia McCaskey well overpaying to keep a coach who is more suitable for DC in Lovie Smith is what seperates owners mentality which affect a teams performance in the win column year after year.

I would have given Cable $6M over Smith...Cable had that team trending upwards and within earshot of a division title after being a laughingstock since 2003.
