For Patriots Moss Trade Is A Step Backward
By: Derek Havens

Reaction to the Randy Moss trade. On October 6th, 2010 Randy Moss was traded to the Minnesota Vikings along with a 2012 7th round draft pick for a 2011 3rd round selection. Only time will tell what this team can accomplish, but they are a worse football ...

There are a lot of flaws with this article. Sorry Derek, but this is a flop.

2001 through 2004 : The Pats had 3-4 "slot receivers" with no deep threat and did very well for themselves. In fact, those teams didn't have the quality of TEs that the Pats currently do either.

The evaluation of the current receivers and the ignoring of the TEs only takes away from the article. Tate and Hernandez are not slot receiver type players. In fact, Hernandez has shown he can line up in the slot or on the flank and have success. Tate has always been lined up out wide. Price is an unknown at this point, but he's a solid 6' receiver who runs in the 4.4 range.
