Florio speculates a Demaryius Thomas to NE trade.

You don’t usually do that if the problem is only understanding the system.

How do you come up with this?? The fact is he was seldom used in Friday's 'dress rehearsal" and he saw the writing on the wall. He also did not get any snaps with #12 in that game..

It’s not that hard. If the issue was just Decker not having a handle on the offense but still having the requisite athletic ability, they would have either traded him or cut him and let him move on elsewhere (that and he wouldn’t have had trouble getting work before the Pats called him). That he’s retired indicates he simply doesn’t have it athletically anymore.

But Thomas still does.
Matter of fact Thomas said he feels better than he has in years playing without painm

I would think SF would love to trade for Thomas.

That would be mush more likely to happen if they were gonna trade him.

Cant wait for the time later this year when all those rumors turn into facts and people whine that the team could have had all those WRs but either Kraft was too cheap or BB doesn't know what he is doing.

He was doing so well he retired...

You get that your sarcasm (which when done well is something I'm a fan of) is meaningless and silly in context, right? Grasping the system isn't the same as being able to play the game, after all. And, your post

So did Decker.. who claims the Pats system is much different.

was about grasping the system, not about failing to gain separation or catch the football.

Who would have "traded" for him?? How often have the Pats cut WR's that could not adapt to this system???..

If they wanted to "trade" him wouldn't they have showcased him last Friday night???

Most of what was written about Decker indicated he had problems adapting to and understanding this offense.. he has also had pass catching issues throughout TC.

You do not have any idea what transpired in the Bowels of Gillette, BB may have told him what he saw as Decker's future with the team and he might have wanted to save face...

LOL... are you serious? He retired. He’s done. He doesn’t have it athletically any more. If a team thought he DID have it athletically and the issue was just not understanding the offense:

1. He wouldn’t have had trouble finding work before the Pats came a callin’.

2. He would have found work after leaving New England.

But teams now know what everyone in the world (except you, apparently) knows: he’s cooked.

At this point i am hoping they make it through a 16 game season healthy. It’s dangerously thin no matter what you think.

I don't disagree with that at all. I just don't like how some people take offseason/preseason rumors and turn them into gospel after some time. I think we will see another veteran WR signed/traded for who can play on the outside. That is really the thinnest (almost non-existant) area as far as I can tell so far.

Dez and BB are about the two most incompatible football people I can imagine....there is no way.
