Would you trade #4 for AJ Brown and pick 32?

I’d much rather have Boutee in the slot. Watch his college and pro tape. The dude thrives in the slot. I just don’t see the fantasy that is Douglas. He doesn’t even pass the simple eye test for me.
I have high hopes for Boutte.

That sweet TD Bomb from Maye showed chemistry and that they've been working together.

I'll take Carter over Brown

I’d take Brown. Short of Jefferson, Chase , and Lamb Brown is as good a WR as they could hope to get. Combine that with the ability to pair 32&38 to move into the mid first round for a tackle and they come out of this draft getting a great proven WR and one of the top tackles in this class. Forget the draft trade value charts and compare that to getting Campbell and Jayden Higgins. I would take AJ Brown and Simmons, or Banks, or Conerly 100 out of 100 times: then throw in the second next year and it’s a no brainer in my opinion.

Not saying it’s true or not, but when it comes to Howie Roseman, salary caps don't exist…

Much as I love the idea of this trade the cap implications really do make it highly unlikely. But stranger things have happened, like say Zach Wilson and Trey Lance getting picked 2-3 in the 2021 draft.

I'll take Carter and that same LT too.

There was a chance until the Eagles paid Brown’s bonus a few weeks ago. Add in that extra $28M dead money, and I’m not even sure they can restructure contracts to make enough room. I mean, they’re paying Uche $1.92M but pushed $600k of the cap hit to future seasons. There’s basically no wiggle room left.

According to the Draftteck trade value chart the 32 &38 picks would get you up to #14, they could easily get a very good tackle prospect mid first round,
Assuming a mid teens team is willing to drop.

I like the idea of AJ Brown but they aren’t a WR1 away from winning this year. This ain’t 2006, upgrading from that 06 disaster of a WR corps to Wes and Randy. I really think they need to get 3 young guys that will be here for a couple contracts and build.

would not do that, just take Carter (if he’s there).

If, AJ Brown doesn’t want to stay in philly where he’s had everything he could possibly want, I certainly don’t want to trade the fourth pick for him

Do the deal, but Philly must take Fitzy too.

I’m just not sold on Carter. He’s coming off multiple injuries, and he has character red flags. And I don’t think he’s Micah Parsons.

If it starts with AJ and ends with a color, chances are he's pretty good. That said, we don't know all the stories about AJ Gold, AJ Silver, AJ Blue, AJ Chartreuse, and AJ Aquamarine. Just for example.

AJ Brown is a lifelong Patriots fan who admitted to crying when the Patriots didn’t take him in the draft. He also played for Vrabel and says that Vrabel “ is an incredible coach,” and that they had “ an incredible relationship. So I’m not sure why we wouldn’t want a great player that loves Vrabel and really wants to be a Patriot?

I agree, I’m really not that impressed with Douglas. MAYBE in the McDaniels offense, he’ll be a beast, but he’s been pretty meh for the Pats. The sheer number of catches is somewhat impressive, but I expected more explosiveness from him based on his tape and on his 40 yard dash. 3 TD catches in 2 years doesn’t impress me.

As far as the “simple eye test”, Boutte was really impressive in year 2. And you can see Maye has developed a nice connection with him. I’m more excited seeing his year 3 as opposed to Pop’s year 3.

I’m so angry to this day, that the Pats didn’t take a great receiver who WANTED to play with the Pats. So incredibly stupid.

We need to build a young core for the future first. right now we have only Gonzalez and Maye for sure. I hope we take our time and not start plugging in [expensive] vets too soon.

I’m waiting to see how they do with Maye and MacDaniels running the show. I think trying to gauge anyone’s ability under last year’s **** show is damn near impossible.

Maybe I’m crazy, but I think the offense is gonna be much better. I just have so much faith in McDaniels as an OC. I’ve been watching a bunch of old Pat’s games, with so many different players in the McDaniels’ offense, and it was so impressive. Of course 2007 was unbelievable, and then the Gronk years, and how McDaniels was able to adapt the offense to be different from the Randy Moss years. The Gronk years are why I want the Pats to draft Tyler Warren (if Hunter & Carter are gone), but that’s a different subject.

The fun part is, how the offense will look depending on who the Pats draft. I think it could be good as is. But if they draft an explosive WR and RB, then it’ll be really interesting.

If the Pats got Brown, the 32nd pick, and the Eagles' second rounder, they could easily trade up for Josh Simmons assuming he doesn't get drafted higher than when he is expected to go. Some think Simmons may end up being the best LT of this draft.
the eagles 2nd rounder is ONE pick from being a 3rd rounder. I would NEVER do that deal. Moving from 32nd to #4 would require a WHOLE lot more than a 32nd pick in the first and 2nd round plus Brown.

I was thinking tight end, too, but maybe grab one later. But I heard that Warren was really the whole Penn State offense. so tempting.
