Vrabel has spent his whole coaching career calling on a female reporter first in every press conference. He said he does it because they have a tough job in a male dominated environment and he wants to help.

So how does this virtue signaling pay off for Vrabel? The left-wing press tries to paint him as a cheater!

You can't hate the press enough!

BB was right the way he treated the press!
"...left-wing press...? JC, WTF are we doing here? For crissakes, get a f###### grip...

No prob, and thanks for the compliments. I feel I should apologize for giving in to my penchant for stirring **** up.

And I really did want to find out if there was anyone who actually would fire the COTY over such an issue, because the discussion thread about it seems like there really might be. The whole thing has riled some folks up so much. Problem is that I can’t really tell if the two votes for summary execution are serious or in the same spirit as my OP. Ah well, twas fun to see the responses.
Even so, it’s still a good measuring stick - or rather a lack of measurement, as the reply was almost unanimous.

Lots of sound and fury in the “main” thread on the topic, but this poll has been up since yesterday afternoon and only 2 votes out of 41 representing any actual consequences, which may or may not be serious. So this leads me to believe those making a stink are doing just that.

Assertions are being made on this board that Vrabel has destroyed his credibility with the players, and can no longer coach them on important issues like not creating distractions. If those allegations are true he has undermined his ability to do his job as coach, so the team needs to take action.

What action(s) should be taken to punish him?
Are you trying to take sams job by starting this thread? .....

How in the Fing woke universe does this make any sense???!!! We were picking 4th in the draft the year before and then in the SB in Vrabels' first year...what else does anyone need to establish Vrabels' credibility?!

this is still a thing ? the press us making this blow up for whatever reason... wonder where all this vigor was when steve tisch was exposed in the Ep. files...

We should/need to do nothing.

The belichick walk of shame photos were more lurid than vrabel getting overly familiar with a consenting adult at a pool party
It's definitely a "thing" for The Athletic - but not the Patriots. They should just let her contract expire - she's a good enough reporter to get another job in or out of sports, even if this is viewed as bad journalistic integrity.

As long as Vrabel isn't divulging inside information that can hurt he and the team (which he could also do with anyone) then I'm with the "leave him alone" category.

Coaches leak info and misinfo to reporters all the time so seems irrelevant to me whether he's in a relationship

It MAY be a conflict of interest for the Athletic as you can question whether Vrabel and the Pats get any special treatment.

I'm glad for those clutching pearls at the thought that a couple could be having relationship difficulties and might find comfort from others - they live very sheltered lives. Let's see them walk in the shoes of those they judge, but I'm in the camp of strong support for Vrabel if indeed anyone's looking to oust him.

Consequences Vrabel will have to deal with:

- Probably a nasty divorce.
- Relationship with his kids.
- If the divorce is nasty and drawn out, it will spill into his worklife. But it'll pass and he'll recover.

Consequences Vrabel will NOT have to deal with:

- Job security. Any talk in this regard is panty-twisting madness.

Well said, although I'd tell anyone that being in a loveless and or toxic relationship does no favors for the kids

There's an old joke though:

Q: "Why is divorce so expensive?"
A: "Because it's worth it!"

Tell me about it. I sometimes lament losing half my 401k, but then remember that keeping it would have required staying married.

Let’s ask his boss, Mr. Integrity

"I understand, Mike. A man has needs. But this isn't the Tennessee Titans... heh heh. As an employee of THE New England Patriots, there's going to come a certain level of scrutiny. So, you need to be more discreet about this sort of thing. That is why I recommend the professional level of service you can expect from a strip mall masseuse."

I highly doubt divorce will be something Vrabel will have to deal with. What exactly did those pictures show? Him hugging a friend and talking to her in the pool? Seriously, they are both married, they are not both dead!
