Fast start in the super bowl.

At this point, I've wondered if Belichick is coming out a little vanilla to see what the other team is going to do and then adjust the game plan accordingly. I'd say it's very likely if he's doing this that he's already got a couple gameplans set up based on film study of the other team's tendencies, and then he puts that plan into play with whatever adjustments are necessary based on the new wrinkles in the current game.

There is really nothing to wonder about. This is how it is.

You go into a game with an assumption of what the other team will do based on film. But obviously the other team practices as well and should be well aware of their own tendencies so they usually come in with some adjustments and wrinkles. Once the game declares and the coaching staff knows what the opponent tries to do on defense and offense they adjustment game starts that can take up to an entire quarter and from then on we are usually pretty tight except for busted coverages or penalties.

The only early wildcard that usually is pretty successful is the first (scripted) drive on offense. Apart from that I would expect a slow start.

What i'm eager to see is if the defense does a better job getting off the field on 3rd down. They tightened in the 4th last week but in the first half, bortles kept hitting it on 3rd down and it was frustrating. Bill adjusted to what they were doing

I wish people would stop whining about the defense. Them and ST carried the game against the Jaguars for the most part while the offense had no consistency through the entire game except for one sustained drive (that still required Jack to blow an easy read on the Dola 3 & 18).

Most of everything else came out of short fields.

Bingo!

That's one of the reasons I don't even get very upset anymore when the opponent jumps out to a 10 point lead early. In the chats, I'm usually quick to say that we're getting their best plays and BB is adjusting our plan.

Quick start would be fabulous.

Did not realize pats did not score in 1st qtr of Superbowls?!

Or was that just tds?

Thought I read that somewhere.
