Farm Team Report: Weis lands top QB prospect

Seriously, I thought it is a "no brainer" to play for Charlie Weis at Notre Dame.

Just look at Charlie's rolodex.

On his coaching staff alone, you will find a grandson of Wellington Mara and a son of Bill Pollian.

Then you have his fishing buddy from Carolina.

Of course, you must not forget his good friends at Cleveland, New York, and Philadelphia.

There are also his mentors at Dallas and Boston.

I also believe he is on good term with the guys from Miami and Tampa.

And don't forget the Jersey guy at Minnesota.

.

Good for charlie, keep those blue chip players coming. Love to see him when a national champ some time soon.

Guys dead to me...I dont mean literally I wish him harm Its just he no longer matters...Notre Dame aint our triple A club

Many of us consider it our JV team since Charlie runs the same offense. If that annoys you, then I guess you got a problem :bricks:

This response has nothing to do with what this thread is about and only going to start more crap. What's your problem?
No problem you can't fix by using the IGNORE feature on this guy.

question of loyalty

Tom Friend of ESPN Magazine reported today that Brady himself actively steered Clausen to Notre Dame -- we'll keep this quiet;) , but you have to wonder how Michigan would feel about this.:D

This kid is ultra ****y for a 19 year old. (he was held back two years for development)

the commit is expected to shift the whole balance of power in the NCAA.

first MAJOR victory for Weis over Carroll at the college level.

Notre Dame is clearly our farm team for offense. They're the new LSU now. Duh.

though they have 9 starters returning on defense (not good for them this year), they look to be locking up a ton of talent on that side of the ball for 2007 and beyond, starting with a DT from D.C. that some are likening to Seymour.

I just think it's funny that a certain notorious M alum is funneling guys to one of his most hated rivals...obviously it's more of a "pro-weis" thing than anti-Michigan thing...but who could blame him if there was a slight residue of resentment?

I thought Fresno State was our farm team.

We'll know better after the draft, but Fresno didn't achieve farm status before last year, a possible indication Hill is getting his program developed enough to attract good kids who can be coached up to NFL standards.

go Irish! .

The Sox have multiple farm teams. So can the Pats. :)

Hmmm, something just occurred to me. . . . If Clausen spends four years at ND, he'd be entering the 2011 Draft. And we have Brady under contract through 2010.

BB can't be that Machiavellian . . . can he? ;)

[Yeah, yeah, I know, way too many variables, we may very well be picking at 32 anyways, yada, yada, yada. But you have to admit that, if Clausen pans out the way he should, it would be a very entertaining prospect.]

Good point. Notre Dame, Fresno State, Virginia? (3-4 Defense) Any Saban defenders still at LSU coming out in this week's draft?

Notre Dame is not affiliated with the Pats...Chunky Charlie and the Stomach staple five can bugger off

This must be computer use weekend at the hospital. Sorry guy, but you are an idiot.

Chunky Charlie was a key person in those three SB rings.

It is just common sense to keep connections with good college coaches. They can give the right info on their players and players on other teams. It all helps when you evaluate.

Now I'm being stupid in responding to you and wasting my time trying to explain something to you.

That Charlie, you'd think he was after a National Championship...

Too bad Claussen isn't. If he wanted a shot at a ring, he'd have picked USC, not the overrated Irish.

... um... what are you talking about?

Notre Dame with far inferior players would have beat USC last year, if not for a ballsy 4th down pass by Leinart.

Weiss is a better tactician than Carroll, and I don't see why any top HS prospect would choose USC over Notre Dame at this point. The next 10 years will be all Notre Dame.

Claussen will likely win one, if not multiple, championships.

Looks like the ND fans have all taking hefty sips of the Charlie Weiss Koolaid, they had a scrimmage on Saturday that drew a record crowd of 41,000+

http://und.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/nd-m-footbl-body.html

A spring game-record crowd of 41,279 watched head coach Charlie Weis's 2006 edition of the Fighting Irish for the first time on a sun-splashed day. Using an innovative split-squad format, Weis split the team into two units bolstered by a third, green-clad group of offensive linemen and kicking specialists who served both squads.
